  1. Fortunately, the rain stopped shortly after 1:00 AM last night. So, I now sit at 5.16 inches since the Big Wet Weekend began. That's already at the upper threshold of what some of the global models were predicting for the entire thing. How big can we go? Went back out this morning with the lull in the rain to more properly clear all my gutters. I have never cleared gutters after midnight before (like last night), but I was really worried about our basement flooding with all the rain just draining right along the walls. Fortunately, none of the finished areas have any water influx, as of yet. The crawl space has some wet block walls (from where gutters were not properly draining) but no standing water. I think we're ready for round two now. I'm not sure how we'll hold up for rounds three, four, ... Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  2. 4.94 was my calendar day total. Now at 5 I and coming down steadily. Just went out to clear gutters in our front walkway to keep water from pouring into basement. Should've done that yesterday... [emoji16] Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  3. US 321 and I-40 interchange is impassable with flooded on and off ramps. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  4. Over 4.5 inches so far today, with more heavy rain falling and in the pipeline. This is insane! Also, low rumbles of thunder with these tropical convective showers. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  5. Also over three inches here in Hickory. Still raining steadily with flash floods warnings and flood advisories for the area. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  6. The wet weekend has begun here in Hickory as of about an hour ago. I'm expecting upwards of 4 inches of rainfall when all is said and done, but we'll see if it all materializes as forecasted. So much for hiking this weekend in WNC... I'm glad I got the lawn mowed yesterday evening after work.
  7. Agreed. And, even the hot days from a few days ago were not that bad because the humidity was so low and there was a constant breeze. Maybe there's something to be said for that dry heat they have in Arizona...
  8. ^Those are truly beautiful, eyewall! Thanks so much for sharing. Number 2 is my favorite, and then number 3. I just made that second picture my desktop background. It's beautiful!
  9. We were blessed with another rogue shower this afternoon. We picked up 0.09 inch of rainfall IMBY and had the temperature knocked down to 73. A nice surprise! Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  10. 94.1 was the high IMBY today. Toasty.
  11. Caught another brief shower to bring the day's total to 0.25 inch. We were quite fortunate. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  12. Was very fortunate to pick up a quick 0.09 inch of rainfall about a half hour ago. Widely scattered showers over this way. That may be the last rain we see for a week or more. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  13. Here comes the heat... Ugh.
  14. Yesterday's combined 0.2 - 0.5 forecasted rainfall totals never really materialized. Finished with 0.15 inch. 0.1 of that was around 1:00 AM. The other 0.05 was around 8:00 PM. Rather a bust in my book, when the point-and-click was advertising the amounts above and 80-90% chances of showers and thunderstorms for the day and evening. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  15. Today's forecasted rain has failed to materialize so far. 90% chance has been rather lackluster. No rainfall since daybreak. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  16. 0.10 inch of rainfall on 5/10. 2.20 inches of rainfall on 5/11. 0.10 inch already since midnight on 5/12. Wet. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  17. Man, we really need this rain... /ducks for cover and grins sheepishly/ Up to 1.17 inches for the day already...
  18. 0.97 inch of rainfall so far today. Looks like redevelopment of storms to my South and west, so we might not be done yet. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  19. Drove threw two tornado warnings on the ride up US 64 from Lake Lure, NC, to Hickory, NC, this afternoon. First was in Rutherford County and second was in either McDowell or Burke County. (Phones alerted us to the warnings.) Rain and wind were intense. But, we never saw any rotation. Had radar up the whole ride to see where we were in location to the warned storm. Not a fun drive... 20. I'm at Lake Lure this weekend, but watched that radar signature closely. Fortunately, it weakened considerably before it passed over my house. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  21. Master's just updated schedule for tomorrow due to possible severe weather. Threesomes teeing off at 7:45 AM. CBS starts coverage at 9:00 AM. Trying to get ahead of the nasty weather. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  22. 0.92 inch of rainfall IMBY today. Wet. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
  23. KHKY went from 0.1 to 0.3 on the 15Z SREF Mean. Mean snowfall is now 1.5 inches. https://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/sref/srefplumes/
  24. I'm surprised there's not even a Hazardous Weather Outlook posted for this event right now. There was this morning. They typically mention a stiff breeze in the HWO, so the fact that we might get snowfall in April seems, at least, worth mentioning.
  25. Brad P is talking about the possibilities. Nothing too significant, but...
