  1. Pretty decent writeup of what is going on so far and the future of August
  2. Rumor looks like no one won
  3. When I was younger as a kid I loved to go on all the roller-coasters everywhere, even the super fast ones. Now that I'm an adult, I refuse to ride any lol. Even at Walt Disney World, I was gripping the bar tightly on Space Mountain and didn't want any part of Rock and Roll Roller-coaster or any ride that had your feet dangling. I'll do the teacups though.
  4. Raining pretty good here right now... muahahahaha
  5. Anybody else bought some MegaMillions tickets for fun tonight since it's over $1 billion?
  6. 18z GFS for next Thursday approaches 100 and is in low 100s on Friday at DCA 12z CMC for next Thursday is near 90 and probably mid 90 to upper 90s (like 97ish) for Friday at DCA 12z EURO for next Thursday is mid 90s and mid 90s for Friday at DCA Question -- why are the temps 10-15 degrees warmer in SNE compared to us on Friday on 12z EURO? I do see that 925mbT are 5 degrees warmer up there compared to down here... and 850s are 3-4 degrees Celsius warmer as well.
  7. Storm up by Germantown looks mildly interesting

  14. 12z GFS in the mid to long range brings the heat back for several days... starting Day 8 until the end of the run... even has some 100s tossed in there. Though it has been mentioned that the GFS has been overdoing the heat, h5 heights for the time period are over 600dm... so it could be true
  15. Raining here so i don't think so... especially looking back out in WV
  16. Besides the isolated strong storm Tuesday to Thursday... sounds like Friday could be quite active per the afternoon LWX AFD: .LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY/... A strong upper level trough axis is forecast to pass over the Great Lakes region on Thursday and shift eastward into the NE US by this weekend. A surface low associated with the upper trough is forecast to remain well to the north over eastern Canada but it`s associated front is forecast to drop into our region sometime late Thursday into Friday. Ahead of the frontal passage, warm and humid conditions will lead to an increasingly unstable environment. Weak shortwave energy ahead of the frontal passage combined with the unstable environment will lead to a chance for showers and strong thunderstorms on Thursday. The better chance for more widespread strong thunderstorms will likely be on Friday when forcing from the frontal passage will combine with decent mid level shear and SFC CAPE above 1500 j/kg. If favorable shear and CAPE matches up well with the frontal passage, our region could see a busy day for severe weather.
