    Mostly sleet with some ZR in the Triad. Cars already have a glaze and tree branches felt a little wet and crunchy. Going to be a long storm with ZR already showing up. 19/2 at GSO.

    I mean historically the NAM has been good in our region with temps and less good with QPF. This time? Who knows. 27/6 at KGSO at 9am.

    In hindsight a big snowstorm was a lot to hope for in a winter where we can’t even get it to rain.

    Yeah I mean I’ve seen some cold ZR with temps in the high teens but the icon had gso at 9F. That’s gotta be sleet or snow.

    There’s some rotation with this storm NE of Greensboro. Also, it’s dumping a ton of rain.

    It had some decent rotation while it was near Greensboro too, I was kinda expecting a warning. Its broader now.

    For my triad folks, looking at the GSP radar it does look like things are building west just a bit downstream. I'm...cautiously optimistic that this isn't the end? Either way it's been better than I feared. The flakes were really beautiful around lunchtime.

    This is really something after we had nonstop cold rain for basically a week straight.

    I know the trends today but it seems like there's enough of a signal to issue a watch at least. It's very unlikely there won't be at least an advisory in the area.

    Our current storm system is not lacking energy. There are severe thunderstorm warnings from the NC/VA line to the Gulf.

    Well for the Triad I think we need a miracle to break our streak for a warning criteria snow. Threading the needle between cold and dry or ice is just so hard these days.

    Looks like those times very closely mirror the latest GRAF run.

    The plans for Guilford as of now are to just do remote learning on Friday. Can’t speak to any other districts but they all usually come to the same conclusions.

    If it slows down a bit we could have Carolina Crusher #2 exactly 25 years later.

    Went to Boone today to actually see it snow. 10/10, totally recommend just traveling to see it snow instead of waiting endlessly. It’s been 6 years since I’ve seen snow like that in High Point.

    6 years and a month now since a warning criteria snow in the Triad. There’s gonna be a whole generation that hasn’t seen a real snow.

    That was an incredibly efficient EWRC. I was hoping for the pressure to rise more and the core to look a little more ragged. We’re quickly running out of time for this thing to weaken enough to matter with the surge.
