In January, this day is one of those that has snow showers on and off all day. I even told the guys I was playing golf with that the mountains looked like they were shrouded in snow on an off all day.
It wasn’t completed until 1869. They would have had to take a Yankee clipper around the Horn or Pony Express it.
Edit: I stand corrected, the Pony Express started in 1860.
There are 3 flood control dams in my area that were constructed following the 1927 flood. They all held in July but it was close at the one outside Montpelier. Wrightsville Dam
Yay. Another invasive bug. There aren’t a lot of elms left, at least big ones. https://vtdigger.org/2023/08/15/invasive-insect-found-zigzagging-on-vermont-elm-trees/
It's the timing that has screwed us up. Our league is on Tuesday night's. It seems as if we have had rain and storms on Tuesday a lot this year. Tonight would be fine but tomorrow looks rainy again. Same thing last week.
I think I’ve gotten 5 Tuesday night men’s league rounds in since the end of May and a similar number of Sunday mornings in. Couple the rain with our fours being closed for a week to host the state am and golf outings are down for me.
I did it! We finished the 9th in light rain around 7:30. Since then we’ve had almost an inch of rain. For the love of god, someone please make it stop!
