  1. I think we know what happens, certain posters start saying it’s not just warmer than normal but so warm that air conditioners need to be installed and beach umbrellas need to be dusted off. The fact of the matter is that the warmth is undeniable but +5 isn’t all that great in April. 53° instead of 48°, especially when it’s still accompanied by clouds and showers still isn’t all that great.
  2. That didn’t last long. A snow squall just blew through.
  3. The clearing is heading east. Sunny and pleasant here in Lake Placid.
  4. I’m in Lake Placid and I came into town past Whiteface. I know it’s the Olympic Mountain so I assume the terrain has to be decently challenging. I don’t much else about it though. Why isn’t it a “bigger” deal? Is it location or are there other reasons that bring it down a bit? Or am I just crazy and it is a big deal for skiers?
  5. I remember Easter that year as being hot up here, like 90°. I was 8 years old.
  6. Random question for you ski people. This is a State of Vermont Microsoft Teams background. I can't figure out which ski area it is. Sugarbush maybe?
  7. 26.7° for the low. A bit chillier than I expected.
  8. I’d just like to see my high temp start with at least a 6 at some point.
  9. I’m disappointed that Scheffler ran away with it. He played great but I was hoping someone would have stepped up and at least make it close.
  10. I noticed how high the rivers flowing into lake Champlain were yesterday in the way up to Montreal. The lake looked high too.
  11. Feels like it’s about to snow here in Montreal. I’m not this big of a fan!
  12. At the home opener for the Montreal MLS team. Rain and a wind chill of 34°. WTF.
  13. But that guy in the ski thread thought Sugarbush was out to screw him.
  14. Can we get through an entire month of spring first?
  15. From the Jay Peak Facebook page.
  16. It had a pretty big impact up here. Vermont officials estimate 160K people drove to the state for Monday’s eclipse. We went up by KMPV to watch and there must have been 20 small planes lining the runway.
  17. Hell, if had been just a few days earlier it would have been obscured by heavy snow.
  18. I think that there was enough communication about what to expect for traffic that people were ready for it or at least resigned to dealing with it.
  19. This was the post eclipse traffic on 89 south between exits 7 and 6 at 7:30 on the 8th. It was crazy. I couldn't imagine sitting in that, I would go nuts.
