  1. The biggest thing is that ground isn’t frozen to any real extent and all the water crossings are open. Most people think of bridges and culverts but trails cross a lot of wet ground and places that don’t lend themselves to bridges and culverts. There is a surprising amount of water in NNE even in normal years.
  2. I think he was saying that open-1:00 was when the skiing was the best.
  3. It will be one million degrees.
  4. The flow must be blocked. We had .25 - .50 but there were quite few people at the work meeting I'm at in Waterbury who were late because of the roads coming in from the other side of the spine.
  5. This. It's a pretty narrow area that is getting snow. Though I will say that it has impacted travel some. I'm at an in-person meeting today and people from west of the spine said conditions were slick. The flow must be blocked because there wasn't much where I live east of the mountains.
  6. There are places on the west coast that aren't over run yet but their getting fewer and farther between. I've always been partial to the Panhandle beaches but everything there from Apalachicola west is booming. It has changed so much in recent years.
  7. EVs don’t have a monopoly on subsidies. https://www.nrdc.org/sites/default/files/restore-clean-energy-incentives-big-oil-FS.pdf
  8. Let’s hope that doesn’t completely flip.
  9. Luckily there isn’t much snowmelt to add to it.
  10. I was going to say something had to have been going on. I certainly don’t remember a 90° day in March 2007
  11. Be careful, @AstronomyEnjoyermight feel you’re horning in on his role.
  12. It’s been a decent unit and at a decent price. I don’t need anything high end like a Davis. I’ll definitely get another when this one dies.
  13. What a difference a couple of hundred miles makes.
  14. Wow. November 13th is pretty specific. We will have to pin this post and hold you to it.
  15. Maybe we'll have to call it Way Cool Jr.?
  16. I'm not sure I could laugh enough at this article. Winter Wonderlands: The 10 Snowiest States
  17. Its elevation, at least where in VT. It also helps if the trails are roads in summer.
  18. I understand what you're saying and think in many instances that would be the correct assessment. In this case though I take @RUNNAWAYICEBERG's posts as straight up and don't think of him as infusing "reasonable skepticisms". I take as simply saying it doesn't seem like sunny and 80° is in the cards anytime soon.
  19. Except that isn't the "battle". The battle is between someone calling for a 2012 redux (temps in the 80's) and some saying probably not, closer to 50 and cloudy/rainy.
  20. You’ll find the NNE thread is more laid back and welcoming than the main thread. We (well at least me) are more tolerant of exotic model clown maps.
  21. That I get. I go back and forth about getting one. I use a GMC Acadia to tow my sleds and it works but I don’t tow nearly as far as you do.
  22. I try to understand why a person needs a truck like you have who doesn’t go near dirt and doesn’t carry anything more than a bag of soccer balls. And yet many do.
  23. Lol. DIT just had a seizure.
