  1. They've actually removed a lot of trees over the last several years. They have some marked for cutting this year too. It's a fun course. It's not overly long but the conditions are always good and it is challenging. We hosted the State Amateur Championship last year and the Mid-Am this year. Country Club of Barre
  2. It was a nice start to October, though my golf game seems to have gone into hibernation early .
  3. It’s absolutely laughable given the stretch of great weather we’ve that the one golf tournament that I manage to play in all year just happened to be on the one day we got 2” of rain. You can’t make that sh*t up.
  4. Nice. That area must be difficult to chase. Very rural.
  5. I may have missed it, where did you end up?
  6. That landfall should put my brother on the west side of the storm. Still have extreme wind warnings for Thomas County, GA east though. The weather channel has someone in Valdosta, about 45 miles east of him.
  7. My brother is in Thomasville, GA, about 30 miles north of Tallahassee. He’s not sure what to expect. He’s hoping it wobbles east a bit so they don’t get the NE quadrant. His biggest worry is the several large pines in his yard.
  8. It had already been paid for or else i would not have played. My rain gear even got soaked through.
  9. 1.79" today and 2.37" since it started yesterday. They still held the golf tournament but the shortened it to 9 holes. Maybe the most miserable 9 holes of golf I've played.
  10. Hopefully Chairman Mao and President Nixon can negotiate a treaty that will allow for us to help with heating.
  11. What the heck is this stuff coming out of the sky? Some sort of liquid. .17 so far of course we are ending this unbelievable stretch of gorgeous weather just in time for me to play in a golf tournament tomorrow.

  13. 60.9°/49.9° and breezy. 63° on the house. May need to close some windows.
  14. Well, at least we know who to blame if winter sucks! I may be making a couple of trips up there this coming winter. Very good friends of mine moved up to Presque Isle this summer. Direct trail access from their house. It always helps to have a place to stay.
  15. Feels like July. 80° all the way up on the car thermo.
  16. Coming from CT, I would probably get to the Kanc via the bright blue route below. Once you get past Springfield, MA, 91 is pretty scenic. When you get off 91 and head towards Lincoln, NH, Rt.112 is very scenic as well. Lincoln and the Kanc can be a real clusterf*ck during foliage season. On the other side, Conway, NH will be a madhouse. In terms of timing, I've always thought the last weekend of September is a solid bet. My wedding anniversary is September 29th and it usually pretty decent around then.
