  1. Rained on and off all the way in the drive here to North Bay. 53° and windy when we got to the hotel. Looks like it got to 64° at home. There is a lot of woods between Ottawa and here. The Trans Canada drops down to a two lane road not that far west of Ottawa, maybe 50 miles? Tomorrow we drive to Sault st Marie. Wish the weather was going to be better but I’m still excited to see the big lakes.
  2. You’re late. Tip already issued one of his patented Sonoran heat release warnings.
  3. When I left my office in Waterbury around 2:30, there was so much pollen blowing off the trees it looked like a Haboob. A pollen haboob.
  4. Lol. That was finished shortly after I took the picture. As for the strip over the sliding door in back, they are still waiting for the last box of vinyl from the distributor. An entire box for one long piece and it was supposed to be on the last three delivery trucks. They'll come back to install that when it comes in.
  5. My project is done. Stripped off the 40 year old siding, put on insulated house wrap, taping the seems, installed new siding, a new picture window and 3 new basement windows. The final bill will come in a little over $18K.
  6. This is probably the way I'm going to go too. I have baseboard hot water so it wouldn't make sense to install ductwork etc.
  7. I bought my Callaway Rogue ST's at the W. Lebanon location a few weeks ago.
  8. At my club you get to reserve a weekly tee time if you pay your membership in full by March 1. There are people who have had the same tee time for 40 years. And they never cancel.
  9. Get something like this. Callaway Golf Men's Strata Intro Complete 9 Piece Set (Regular Flex, Right Hand, Steel), Gray
  10. That's my favorite time to play. We teed off at 4:15 last night and pretty much had the course to ourselves on the back 9. I'm much happier playing in the evening after all my stuff is done around the house etc.
  11. Had to have been quite a while ago too. Who the hell uses the term 1 wood anymore?
  12. With the number of kids @40/70 Benchmarkhas popped over a pretty short span, he must be micro plastic free.
  13. Even a skulled ball that stays relatively straight leaves you better off than the chunk. It gets you closer to where your short game can come into play.
  14. My game is miles away from yours but when I was at my lowest handicap, 13, it was almost entirely due to my short game and putting. Having said that, I still think a lot of it stems from driving. If I keep putting myself in poor positions it's almost like starting with a penalty stroke. If I am in an adjacent fairway, I will struggle getting back into position, especially if there are trees in the way, whereas someone at your level has the ability to get back into position easier and may salvage par or bogey at worst where I often end up with a double.
  15. Nice video but we really want to see the progress on your garage.
  16. Yeah, hasn't been a great day. Breezy at times too.
  17. You couldn’t draw up a better stretch for a weekend. I’d sacrifice tomorrow if we could lock in a rain on weekdays/sunny on weekends pattern for the summer.
  18. I thought about you and Diane when we drove through. Big craft fair in N. Conway.
  19. I’ve only seen Lake Ontario near Toronto, Lake Erie near Cleveland and Lake Michigan near Chicago. However, the second week of June we are driving out to Green Bay through Ontario and the U.P. so we will be doing some sightseeing around Huron, Superior and Michigan. I’d love to go to Duluth and even Thunder Bay but it won’t be this trip.
  20. Still patches of snow high up on Mt. Washington but it’s leafed out all the way to where there aren’t leaves anymore. After breakfast we went over to N. Conway through Crawford Notch and came back through Bear Notch and the Kancamagus.
  21. Took a ride over to Northern NH today and had breakfast at Polly’s Pancake Parlor in Franconia. Stunning day and views.
  22. Imagine living in SLK. Climate change lengthens the growing season everywhere except there.
  23. I think it’s been pretty widely recognized that the bear population has increased significantly over the last several years here in VT. https://www.vermontpublic.org/local-news/2023-10-13/vermonts-black-bear-population-is-the-highest-its-been-in-5-years#
