Same here, the spread has been fueled by small home gatherings and other places where people become more lax following protocols. Our governor specifically noted that when he announced tighter restrictions. He was asked why restaurants and gyms weren't closing and he said that there really haven't been any outbreaks traced to those types of establishments. . There was the initial hockey league outbreak that was started by someone who travelled out of state and came back and didn't follow any of the guidelines and kept carpooling to the ice rink and there have been couple of Halloween parties that have bumped up the transmission.

Even up here it isn't all that normal to have the snowpack start this early, the last couple of years notwithstanding. I would estimate that we have snow on Thanksgiving maybe half the time? Other than the truly ridiculous week of San Diego weather we had, we seem to be on a somewhat normal progression.

I really slept on the wintryness of this time period. I wasn't expecting it to be 18° this morning with on and off snow showers. Not as much as you hill folk received but a nice covering with grass poking through. Maybe .75"?

Believe it or not, I’m still a member of one of those UVM email list serves that is used by municipal officials around the state. It still sees regular action, though not a ton. Mostly town clerks and state officials announcing thing like election workshops and days that flags are lowered to half staff.

But "flatten the curve" isn't a one time thing though right? Don't you have to keep it flattened until we get to a position where there is combination of better treatment, vaccines and immunity? It doesn't do any good to flatten the curve for a month or two and then just let it go right? I would think we have to have some patience to get to that point.

Absolutely not. The question we discussed was whether to offer refunds to people from out of state who have already purchased season passes if travel restrictions get tighter. VT's travel restrictions and quarantine requirements have been pretty thoroughly discussed so I won't go over those again. The governor's office has considered snowmobiling an acceptable quarantine activity, meaning if you ride only with the people you came with and don't meet up with others or go into stores, restaurants, bars etc. you should be ok. That could change obviously and last night we decided that we weren't ready to give refunds yet but we will revisit the idea if restrictions become tighter.

It has been early the last couple of years. I am usually teaching a snowmobile safety course the first Saturday in December and that seems to be around the time we start having snow stick around usually.

Everyone is avoiding the obvious culprit, October snow. We all knew when it happened that winter was doomed.

I guess no surprises at in store today. I didn’t want to see DJ blow his lead but I was hoping for a little suspense. Tiger’s 10 was painful and I was glad to see Rory making a little bit of a run. All in all I’m glad they were able to play the tournament.

I was at deer camp at about the same elevation and we had the same thing. Didn’t last long but their were a few bouts.
