  1. Nice. I’ve had one in my life. It was a crappy, skulled shot that if it hadn’t hit the pin and dropped straight down, would’ve gone 30 yards over the green. I didn’t even see it go in because the green is raised and you can’t see the surface from the tee.
  2. That's the difference here, no building inspector. It can get you in trouble if you hire the wrong guy. The guys I hire are pros though and follow code. I generally do that with electric. I can handle minor plumbing stuff. I've installed sinks, faucets, a garbage disposal and toilets myself. I wouldn't run new stuff waste pipes myself.
  3. That fall was a blur for me. Both my parents were in the hospital/hospice with cancer so I was back and forth between here and GA most of that fall. I do remember there wasn’t much snow in Jan/Feb/March 16.
  4. Not a lot of specialized building permits or restrictions up here. Some of the bigger towns like BTV have layers of code enforcement etc. but in towns like mine it’s mostly zoning on the town level. As long as I’m not expanding the footprint, I don’t need anything. None of the finishing in the basement, bathroom renos or kitchen reno required anything. As long as you stay within the setbacks for the zone you’re in and it’s an allowed use, all you need is a building permit which is $90. Now, there are state permits for some things like septic design. Storm water runoff is also regulated on the state level but I think that’s for developments etc. the state also has some strict land use/development laws for lots over 10 acres.
  5. Just the deep greeness of the foliage is a bit shocking compared to the other pics
  6. For the first few months of this season, I "only" played once a week instead of my usual 3 times and I have not been able to get into any semblance of a rhythm. Since the end of August I've been able to play more and my scores are finally getting back to the low 40's(most of my rounds are 9 holes). I guess I need consistency to even be mediocre.
  7. Some years it does seem to happen quicker than others though. I'll be thinking that foliage isn't that great and then seemingly overnight it explodes.
  8. Yep 72°/52° here under blue skies. The golf course is calling...
  9. Remind me to not swim in that lake
  10. No tornados or severe to speak of here today. No aliens either.
  11. 45.8° for a low this morning. Snowmobile shows are my marker for moving into the cold season. I'll be at Epping, NH for the grass drags and Augusta for the Maine show again. Looking forward to it after a year off.
  12. Beautiful evening on my neighborhood’s bike path. Foliage changing.
  13. Quite an adventure. Probably should have just knocked Phin's door in Randolph and hung out on his deck for the weekend.
  14. Down to 47.5° outside, 61.5° inside. Brrrrr.
  15. It won’t happen but the joy I would get if the Yanks and the Six were to somehow miss the playoffs would be immeasurable.
  16. Most of your garden is container, right? That’s got to be a huge advantage in a year like this.
  17. I'm not a huge baseball fan anymore either but I still think of those close plays from the outfield as some of the most exciting in all of sports.
  18. Really skirted us. Some lightning and got a little breezy but only .29” here.
  19. I've never been a Pats fan but my true dislike for them started with those teams. Since I am from Georgia originally, I was a fan of the University of Georgia and when the Pats drafted their QB Andy Johnson, I was excited. They then made him a running back and Steve Grogan was the QB. I hated them for that. From a rational, adult perspective, that makes complete sense. From the perspective of a 10 year old kid though it was a complete slap in the face and I have never been able to get over that initial resentment.
  20. I was just reading his obituary. I didn't realize he was Randall Cunningham's brother.
  21. I think you guys would be surprised by some of the “quality” in the VSP. I don’t work directly with VSP but we’ve had former troopers on our staff and they’ve had some real stories. They have their share of real winners too.
  22. 54° here too. Had .39” today as well.
  23. I teed off at 4:30 during the clear period and it started raining again right when I was back at my car about half an hour ago. I hemmed and hawed about going to play but glad I snuck it in.
