  1. Few more vacation pics. Went to St. Andrews State Park on the eastern end of Panama City Beach. The we took a ferry to Shell Island, an uninhabited barrier island. Absolutely gorgeous beaches. The best on Florida imho.
  2. I’m in Panama City, FL. It’s off season but the water is still warmer than Maine in the height of summer.
  3. I definitely have been enjoying this stretch
  4. Just walked through some of the heaviest rain I’ve ever been in. I’m in Panama City Beach, FL. Walked across the street from our condo for dinner. By the time we were done it was coming down like a firehose. We tried waiting it out but finally gave in and walked the 200 yards back to the condo. I don’t know what the rates were but the closest PWS has 2.52” on the day. Luckily the rest of the week is supposed to be nice.
  5. 41° in Arlington, VA as we sit waiting to take off from DCA.
  6. 28.5° at home and 33° here at BTV as we leave for DCA on the first leg of our trip to VPS.
  7. I saw two pallets of Christmas candy in our local Hannaford’s today waiting to get out out.
  8. I’m headed down to Panama City tomorrow. I like the panhandle beaches the best.
  9. We see how it has impacted @TauntonBlizzard2013
  10. While not quite as odd as @HIPPYVALLEY’s experience, I had an odd one too. This morning I was sitting in my office on a meeting and I heard a bang. I didn’t think much about because we have trucks and stuff going by all the time and there are even occasional explosions from the quarry up the road. A couple of minutes later the doorbell rings and there is a guy on my porch holding my mailbox. I asked him what happened and he says he has bad tires and the rain made the road slick and he sideswiped my mailbox. Now, we had had about a tenth of an inch at that point so his tires must have been bald. At least he went and bought me a new mailbox. I probably should have told him to just put the money towards new tires.
  11. Wow. I had about .25” today and we aren’t all that far apart as the crow flys.
  12. Hard rock and metal covers or original music? I guess you never made the NNE bar circuit or I would have heard of the band.
  13. I really didn't have an issue with how much snow fell last winter, I think I recorded 96". My issue was that it always felt like it was followed by a warm up. I like retention and depth in my snowpack and last year featured neither.
  14. I thought you've been below freezing? My lawn isn't growing anymore, just mowing for leaves now.
  15. I was going to say the same thing. Lots of times all you get is a beam straight down the Winooski Valley and that’s about it.
  16. I think you're right. Unless the radar site isn't actually located in Caribou?
  17. I agree, there are numerous factors that come into play. We also need to remember that many of the employees that work at the resorts and other tourism oriented businesses would also be using, if not STRs then MTRs, Medium Term Rentals, for the entire season so some of the shift is there. It's hard to incentivize a focus on non-luxury housing though. Developers will build where they can make the most profit and that's where the market is. It's also harder to build in our areas. Between regulations, which can be changed, physical challenges with terrain and the simple fact that when people think of moving to NNE, most aren't thinking of living in an apartment block. Most people want to live in a house in the country.
  18. Yep, the dirty Lew reference was for Dryslot. I know Lava Rock is in the Sebago area and I think you're north of Augusta. It would have been out of my way to try and pass through your neck of the woods too. I thought about going through the Kanc and have before on my way home but decided on Crawford this time.
  19. Made the trip home from Augusta today. I always go over on Rt. 2 and then go home cutting across to 302 as I love the Naples/Bridgton area. Drove through the dirty Lew, somewhere in the vicinity of the Lava Rock and right through Alex and Nopoles land. It was like an AMWX NNE tour.
  20. Yes. There are sensors in remote areas as well. There is a snowmobile trail that runs along the border cut too. Sorry about the pics being sideways. Can’t rotate from my phone.
  21. Wow. Middlebury. I guess that was the time I was buying a house, getting married etc. and had drifted away from going out in Burlington to Nectars and places like that. Speaking of Nectars, I could really go for some gravy fries. Or a kebab from Ali Baba’s
  22. I’ve never even heard of them. God I’m old.
