  1. I think you're right. Unless the radar site isn't actually located in Caribou?
  2. I agree, there are numerous factors that come into play. We also need to remember that many of the employees that work at the resorts and other tourism oriented businesses would also be using, if not STRs then MTRs, Medium Term Rentals, for the entire season so some of the shift is there. It's hard to incentivize a focus on non-luxury housing though. Developers will build where they can make the most profit and that's where the market is. It's also harder to build in our areas. Between regulations, which can be changed, physical challenges with terrain and the simple fact that when people think of moving to NNE, most aren't thinking of living in an apartment block. Most people want to live in a house in the country.
  3. Yep, the dirty Lew reference was for Dryslot. I know Lava Rock is in the Sebago area and I think you're north of Augusta. It would have been out of my way to try and pass through your neck of the woods too. I thought about going through the Kanc and have before on my way home but decided on Crawford this time.
  4. Made the trip home from Augusta today. I always go over on Rt. 2 and then go home cutting across to 302 as I love the Naples/Bridgton area. Drove through the dirty Lew, somewhere in the vicinity of the Lava Rock and right through Alex and Nopoles land. It was like an AMWX NNE tour.
  5. Yes. There are sensors in remote areas as well. There is a snowmobile trail that runs along the border cut too. Sorry about the pics being sideways. Can’t rotate from my phone.
  6. Wow. Middlebury. I guess that was the time I was buying a house, getting married etc. and had drifted away from going out in Burlington to Nectars and places like that. Speaking of Nectars, I could really go for some gravy fries. Or a kebab from Ali Baba’s
  7. I’ve never even heard of them. God I’m old.
  8. Battle of evil teams. Wish they could both lose.
  9. The border goes through the library in Derby Line
  10. I had that a couple of weeks ago. Didn’t even feel it where the needle went in.
  11. If you do self-publish something, make sure at least one copy is printed on scrolls so Ginxy will read it.
  12. Awww great. Cooling off the northern Gulf just in time for my trip to ECB in a week and a half.
  13. I generally wear shorts doing that stuff to but I can see long pants when hiking for tick defense.
  14. 29.8° for the low here. Looks like a beautiful fall day is on tap.
  15. That's very school district dependent. I have a friend and his wife who are teacher's in Chittenden county. They've been at the school for 15+ years and make close to $100K each.
  16. I get Redfin updates a couple of times a day on my phone. I have noticed that there are more price reductions now than there has been for a couple of years.
  17. That is so wrong for my area, unless you count lawns. The foliage is pretty bright lying on the ground.
  18. We had a least 3 sizable storms in the first 10 days of March. I’m not sure what the total was but the plow guy didn’t have much room to put snow. My boiler died and they could get the old one out of my basement until April because the basement bulkhead was inaccessible.
  19. Awesome work, as usual. The last one with the fog creeping in against the blue sky might be my favorite. What is the pond with the row boats in it and buildings on the shore? Is it the trout club in Stowe?
  20. I still have wet dreams about March '01 up here
  21. I guess I should be happy with the $4.12 I paid a couple of weeks ago.
  22. I agree. You explained the situation much better than I did above. Here in VT, that situation extends beyond the “resort” towns. When so much of our economy depends on tourism, virtually all of state becomes fertile ground for short term rentals.
  23. Just don’t pretend that thought has never crossed your mind before though.
