  4. Found this while cleaning out the garage. Should I keep it, you know, just in case?
  5. I went to Steamboat in Feb 1996 back when I used to ski -- I had the epic winter here then went there and saw what 5-6 feet of snow on the ground looks like. Oh and we had an 8" snow here a couple days before I went and another 8" snow a few days after I got back. What. A. Winter.
  6. Got about 0.4 in Germantown. My niece's kiddos down in Calvert made a 6-inch tall snowman LOL #winter2023
  7. DCA is going to end up about 53/38 for Jan with the lowest temp for the month of 29! What makes this so bad is the last three winters snowfall totals were 0.6, 5.4 and 13.2. HORRIBLE When talking about where to live for retirement I never wanted the Carolinas because I hated the idea of months of bare trees and dreary, windy, rainy coat-wearing weather, but with no snow most years. We have that HERE now! I'd rather be in a very warm place and travel once a winter for snow. [Sorry for bantering]
  8. Ah, spring. Just watch us finally get blocking and big coastal low in mid-April with low 40s and rain
  9. Yeah beware the snowblower curse! I got one after hurting my back in the big 2010 storms and it hardly snowed for 3 years. Got rid of it and 2014-2016 happened
  10. Makes you wonder if what it would be like if that ridge was say 2,500
  11. Nice pic and beautiful yard! Is that a hummingbird feeder you still have up?
  12. I remember that! I was running errands around MontCo the day before with a short-sleeve shirt on as it was sunny and in the 60s. When I heard winter storm warning on the radio I laughed thinking no way its snows the next day. We got 6-7" in Germantown and it was beautiful how it stuck to the trees.
  13. Ji said in the other thread that this is during his work trip to FL so it's locked in
  14. You know it's dry when you walk the trash can out at 7 degrees and your breath hardly makes any mist! Funny thing is we might be firing up the grill next weekend

  16. Wow you are hard core! It looks like you are on that show Life Below Zero Already down to 16 in Germantown
  17. Got some brief flurries in Germantown
  18. 1.31 total; looks like some lollies over 2 right around the DC area. Oh what a winter storm this could have been!
  19. Mod rain and 35 with over 0.6 now. It's just mid-November so it's fine but if it does this in January we riot
  20. One last post about that Veterans Day storm -- I was curious what it was like in the week or so leading up to it. Look at these temps at DCA including 70s just a couple days before! Wow Looking to grill up some football food for the games and enjoy one last warm day before we get locked down by cold. Got 1.09" total of rain so the new grass can go to sleep happy.
  21. 1.09 total and spread out over a whole day. Could not have asked for better!
  22. If that storm was today imagine the anguish on this board with that brutal cutoff
  23. Highs in the 40s with lows in 20/30s is gonna feel harsh after that!
