  1. 7.5” total here.no complaints, biggest event in several years.
  2. About 6” here. 5.5” fell in the first 2 hours. Possibly the best rates I’ve seen around here since Nemo. Also my first verified WSW since 2021 maybe? Looks like we should be good for another couple inches. 21.9F. Also possibly one of the lightest 6” here as well. Did a quick clear of the car, driveway, and sidewalk since we’re off to NYC first thing in the AM, hoping no issues on the Metro North.
  3. I’m like a wall as expected. From flurries to moderate snow in about a minute. 25.5 degrees. Nice to have a really cold one wall to wall for a change. Been awhile here. Edit…down to 23.5, temp fell quickly a few degees with the onset
  4. Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things…but surprised neither OKC nor BOX extended WSWs east. I honestly thought they might have pulled the trigger yesterday afternoon. You’d think the 3-7” they have in the P&C would warrant it. Based on how this has tended the past couple days, wouldn’t be shocked to see the heaviest axis verify slightly east of where modeled.
  5. Schools open here too...only a half day...but temp now up to 33 and only managed about 0.4", pavement mostly bare.
  6. Welcome to town...we're typically in a bit of a hole for interesting weather outside of rain...but the wind did deliver today for about an hour. Surprisingly managed to keep power at my place towards the northern side of town...we're typically among the first to lose it for anything more than a gentle breeze.
  7. Finished with 3.6” here. Pretty consistent with modeling which was pretty decent in the final 36hrs or so…but exceeded my personal expectations of 1-2”. Just used to under performers the past few years. For perspective…this is my 2nd biggest snow going back to the 22-23 season…hence my pessimism. Glad it worked out and we have the cold for it to stick around a couple days.
  8. Is this the housefly support group? I too had a bunch inside last night...killed off 30-40 either by fly swatter or a bug light/zapper my wife had bought for by the firepit. Had some a few weeks ago, but nowhere near as many. Never issues in the past either other than a stray one here or there. I did discovered an outdoor swarm yesterday when I rolled by garbage can from the curb. Sure enough...maggots and quite the stench coming from the can. We don't store the garbage can near the house...but I figured maybe it had been a mistake to roll it over near the spigot to spray it down versus taking the hose further away from the house. Even still, not sure how they would've found their way inside so quickly, not as if windows were open, but seems hard to believe they weren't related. And just so I meet my quote for weather related content in this post...currently 81F & cloudy.
  9. Ended up losing power here afterall. Son is unable to make it home, roads all blocked.
  10. Definitely best storm here in several years. Thought we were close to losing a tree or two in the backyard….but in the end just one branch snapped and hanging. Power flickered quite a bit but managed to keep it. Hearing a lot of sirens. Son says lots of trees down over near Guilford/Madison line near Rt 1.
  11. I think it's AWOS. But I've typically found it fairly reasonable and DP is showing DP as pretty well mixed (66F).
  12. Even Chester CT managed to pull a 100...impressive.
  13. The exception perhaps being those of near the shoreline, where we get that moisture advecting in off the water later in July and August. My PWS is no stranger to 80 dews in July & Aug...but a bit more rare for June.
  14. still better than the past 2 years here. I have more snow this year than the past 2 years combined.
  15. 1.8” here in Clinton too…no delay for the kiddos though
  16. just over 1/2" here...now above freezing. lame. not really a surprise, mesos weren't really trending in our favor yesterday evening.
  17. I object to being considered SE CT. Let’s reserve that for New London County. Shoreline jackpot works though.
  18. Didn’t expect that to become my biggest event in nearly 2 years. 3.2” was the total here.
  19. Hell not just this year. There's a large swath along the Gulf Coast and the SE states that will have eclipsed my seasonal totals from each of the past two winters too. Happy for the weenies down there...but this shit is getting old man.
  20. Just shy of 1.5” here. My drought of 4”+ snowfalls lives on, but no real surprise there. 1/29 will be 3 years since my last snowfall of 4” or more.
  21. 5" definitely wasn't my report. But now I vaguely remember seeing that and thinking to myself there's no f'in way. Either the trained spotter was measuring on grass without a board or the cutoff for that event really split the town. It's not like I'm right on the water either...I'm 3-4 miles inland and up a small hill...but sometimes I still feel like I'm it a bit of a relative hole, convinced trees sometimes mess with my measurements more than I think they should.
  22. I will literally take anything measurable at this point. Going on 3 years since I've had a snowfall of 4" or more (1/29/22 was the last for me). This has been the most miserable stretch I've seen in the 18 years I've been here. Monday's little surprise felt like a blizzard for those few hours.
