  3. math fail. I was just under 2” not 3”
  4. that seems low. I’m right around 3” down here at MHT
  5. those of you who are not wanting to get vaccinated ought to read the RIP James thread. Read that and ask yourself if you really want to take that chance, Possible side effects (I had zero (pfizer), or getting really sick and possibly die?? i know the odds are low, but do you really want to take that chance?
  6. it was pretty impressive on the front edge, I was in Bedford over by 114, saw an oak tree on top of a car at the busiest intersection in town, 114/101. wind was crazy, until it wasnt
  7. i remember 40's & 50's and drizzle the entire weekend
  8. you guys who are getting the hangovers, try Toast -Before you Drink gummies i know stuff like this sounds like snake oil, and I thought so too before i tried them. As i got older, i was starting to get some bad hangovers. not wanting to really cut back on drinking, I had read about these on another forum, so I gave them a shot. yes, they actually work. i have a few friends who have tried them, and they all say that they really do eliminate the hangover. Yes, I might wake up tired and a little groggy, but no headache, no nausea, nothing like that. and no, i have no affiliation with the company.
  9. oh i agree, but is it known that the vaccine caused the myo? Or did these kids have pre-existing conditions? or maybe they had the myo prior, and it was not known about? i am just discussing possibilities here. my point is that the article is telling you in its own way that the vaccine caused the myo in these 18 kids, but I am arguing that it is not known.
  10. part of the problem is that people only read/see the headline, exp. on social media. most humans are too lazy to read the whole thing.
  11. screaming this from the rooftops. it may have NOTHING to do with the vaccine. the money line is the part that the rates are no higher than normal. Ridiculous click-bait headline and article, yet again. I got the vaccine a few weeks ago. the very next day, I had a hangover. the headline: Local man hungover after being vaccinated.
  12. warm in June? wow, that's a hell of a forecast. Ben Noll, whoever that is, is really going out on a limb there.
  13. heavy, heavy prayers. there really isn't much you can do. you can try hay bales to stop the flow, and there are erosion control things on the market, but $$
  14. Maple propellers and oak tree boogers coming down with the wind, 1-2” per hours. 6-12”, lollies to 18”
  15. i haven't found the black flies to be all that bad this year. the pollen is a different story. it's bad, we need some rain to wash it away
  16. i just bought one of those, the 12k btu version. i haven't installed it yet so i don't know how well it works.
  17. there are a couple nice things about HSA's: you can carrry over funds from year to year (FSAs are use it or lose it). your contribution is pre-tax, and it can live forever if you want it to, even if you leave your current employer. I know you are young and healthy, but if you consistently put money towards it (like a 401k), you will have a nice little health care nest egg set up for when you really need it.
  18. i gotta tell ya tip-two things about this post 1. this might be your first post that i was able to read the whole thing 2. i was able to understand the post, and your point. well done sir!
  19. i was in a group of sleds in a similar situation this past winter. Came up a trail and there were 3 moose standing in the trail. one bolted to the left (that one was a baby), the biggest one bolted to the right, and one stood her ground (the mom) on the right side of the trail. she didn’t like the fact that there were now several snowmobiles and humans between her and her baby. The guys in the front of the group had stopped and were yelling at all of us in the back to back up, as they started turning around. before they all got turned around, she moved across the trail over closer to where the baby was. I was the last person in the pack of 9 sleds and had no idea what was going on up front, other than i could see. it was pretty scary for those guys up front, but she never charged.
  20. cans are stupid. the mountain guys like them because the shave 1-2 lbs of weight off thier sled. yeah, like that matters. and none of them have mastered the art of a nice smooth throttle. I'll never understand that. it's kind of like the Harley guys who roll up to a stop light doing throttle blips. stupid and obnoxious.
  21. did anyone ever find out what happened to Grandpa Bob (@baroclinic zone)? he disappeared like 2 months ago. and what about metherb?
  22. violently agree. stop the madness!
  23. no way it is on your license. that is 100% made up BS.
  24. i don't know the answer, other than to say that employers shouldn't be forced to increase wages because older people can't find other work that pays more. I agree that it sucks for them, and i also hope to never be one of them, but such is life.
