  1. FWIW: [quote] The CDC reported 6,587 COVID-19 breakthrough cases as of July 26, including 6,239 hospitalizations and 1,263 deaths. At that time, more than 163 million people in the United States were fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Divide those severe breakthrough cases by the total fully vaccinated population for the result: less than 0.004% of fully vaccinated people had a breakthrough case that led to hospitalization and less than 0.001% of fully vaccinated people died from a breakthrough COVID-19 case. Most of the breakthrough cases — about 74% — occurred among adults 65 or older. [\quote] Source
  2. i had 6" of snow last January. 15" of rain so far in July.
  3. 2.25" last night, with 0.75" falling between 10:00 and 10:20. it was pouring. 15.25" on the month. ok, that's enough. Can we turn off that god-forsaken drought monitor now?
  4. as Brian346346820321 said, case counts don't matter. as long as routine asymptomatic testing is being performed, case counts are useless. For example, in NH, case counts are rising. however, what truly matters is that the hospitalizations are actually going down.
  5. you have been asked multiple times to show a link on the "big issues" that you are claiming the covid vaccines are causing. as @WhitinsvilleWXhas stated and linked multiple times, the mRNA vaccine technology has been around for decades, and is perfectly safe. No one except you has stated that "health issues are likely" from the vaccine. Post legit links that back up your claims that the vaccines are dangerous, or stop spewing this bullshit.
  6. @Baroclinic Zonenails it, casedemic. As long as asymptomatic people are being regularly tested (which they are), we will continue to see case #s rise. what truly should matter is hospitalizations. as of yesterday, there were 23 in NH, even though cases continue to rise. I am reasonably sure that the 30 reporting hospitals can handle that number of people being treated. I am having trouble finding the peak # of hospitalizations in the state, but it was over 200 IIRC.
  7. DIT is going to need MPM's shawl for outdoor activities
  8. Bizarre? i don't know about that, it seems like we see wildfire smoke around here every year or 2.
  9. i remember having a very nice snow pack in early March, then it must have torched because i also remember it disappearing quickly.
  10. I was sort of looking in Feb, and there was plenty of inventory for what I wanted. i kept my eye on it and noticed that inventory was getting depleted quickly. my old Truck forced my hand, as I needed to put $5k into it, which I was not going to do for a 10 year old truck, so I ended up getting lucky and finding exactly what I was looking for in mid-March. when all was said and done, I paid $8k under sticker. like I said, I got lucky.
  11. we take. Had a great Dec and Jan, but Feb was just OK with 14". bump that up a tad and we don't complain
  12. i bought a new truck recently. was pre-approved through my bank for 2.15%. Dealer gave me $1500 off to take their financing at 2.25%. cost me $1 more/month ($600 total) and saved me $900. no brainer
  13. i have a couple Sun Joe products (mini battery powered snowblower, battery powered compressor). have no complaints about either. What are you going to use to overseed?
  14. they have been talking about adding that exit literally since the early 90's.
  15. Beer? most of the time warm and humid? I'll give you the humid part, but mostly warm days is flat out wrong. I'll also give you that there has been no cool and dry weather. There have been very few (4) dry days, however the cool days have outnumbered the HHH days. At mi casa, of the 19 days of July, i have had measurable precip on 15 days (79%). assuming my daily average high is around 80, i have had 9 days below normal, 8 days above, and 2 right around normal. Also, assuming 70 is the average daily temp, i have had 10 below normal, 6 days above, and 3 right around normal. I mean, my average temp on July 3 was 56 (14 degrees BN). Prime time summer indeed.
  16. i honestly think you have been lucky south of the pike with temps. my high yesterday was 72.yes, Sat was a good enough day, mid-80's and plenty humid. But up here, those days have been few and far between.
  17. i know DIT and especially the Troll Tiger say they love the dewy weather, but there is no way either of them are enjoying this. Outside activities, particularly on the weekends, have been mostly a fail.
  18. we can debate dews and heat etc all day long. BUT your comment is undebatable. it's been horrific, and there is no way it can be sugar coated
  19. yesterday turned out to be a decent day. No rain but quite humid. didn’t start raining until about 8pm. ended up with 2.5”, up to a foot since June 30
  20. you would be amazed at the tight spaces those little f-ers can get into. they can squeeze through a hole the size of a dime. They have no collar bone, so they can get through a hole the diameter of their head.
