  1. never happened with a sled, but I had the same thing happen with my homemade go-kart when I was a kid. still have a scar on my ankle where the axle rod hit it. thing started up, took off, did a full u-turn, and smashed into a retaining wall. All in the span of about 3 seconds.
  2. i was on my morning walk this morning, and had the same thought. I had originally thought that this was going to be one of those years where we go from AN temps right into the winter and cold. but you are right, we are stepping down.
  3. I'll be doing mine sunday, wet or not. no other choice for me. They shouldn't be too wet, not getting a ton of rain on Sat PM
  4. leaf disaster incoming today. the wind likes to blow the oak leaves from the neighbors yards and stack them against the back of my house and my garage. good times.
  5. I'm reasonably sure that other countries have moms, too.
  6. i barely had any this year, where last year there were shit tons of them
  7. they aren't cheap, no doubt. but I'd have to empty my tractor bagger almost every lap without it. It holds a ton of leaves, can do the whole yard with only dumping 2-3 times.
  8. for those of us with lawn tractors, Cyclone rake is where it's at. made in CT, USA. I fire up that bad boy every weekend, because if I didn't do that every weekend, it would be a heck of a chore getting all the leaves at once. my property seems to be the place where everybody's leaves go to rot.
  9. same here. oaks are dumping. accumulations 6-12", lollies to 18"
  10. last year certainly lost its luster. although it was in the 40's early on xmas morning, still had snowpack. By the time I left my brothers house shortly after xmas dinner, the snowpack had been vaporized. temp of 57, DP of 56 nuked that pack in a hurry.
  11. so your user name is just Snow 1717?

  13. hey weenies, this is the New England sub-forum. no one here cares about NYC and NJ
  14. just over 1" of rain. lots of leaves down. pray for me.
  15. i wonder what their highest depth was. beacuse that's a lot of snow
  16. i don't know about your oaks, but mine lose leaves steadily from late-October all the way through spring. there is nothing worse than fallen oak leaves sitting on top of a fresh snowfall.
  17. JFC george. Enough with the blizzards. enough with the adjectives. not everything has to be severe or extreme.
  18. it is entirely possible for a person to enjoy the warm weather, while also looking forward to winter and chances of snow.
  19. glad we don't live there. 75 degrees, not a cloud in the sky here
