  1. -5 now in Randolph. At least the wind isn't as bad as earlier this evening. Don't want to lose power. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  2. Snow mixing in now in Randolph, but temp still 36. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  3. Wow. Just had a minute of the biggest wind of the day roar thru in Randolph MA. Clearing skies approaching. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  4. I think Kane's PK just flew overhead. Ugh! [emoji53] Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  5. We are big soccer fans and I have been going to England for Manchester City matches (and others) for 6 or 7 years. I got tickets for the final Manchester City match last season and they needed a win to clinch the Premier League title. City were 2 goals down after 70 minutes, then scored 3 goals in five and a half minutes to win. Most amazing sports event in my 68 years. Oh, it was my wife's 65th birthday that day and I will never be able to top that present! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  6. Lovely day yesterday in the Blue Hills. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  7. Retired on September 30th and enjoying a 3 week trip in the UK. Beautiful Bluebird skies today in Cardiff. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  8. My nephew and his family live in Northport. They are a few miles inland and supposedly at about 20 feet of elevation. They are both nurses at an area hospital. His wife is on duty now while he is at home with the kids. At some point my nephew will have to go in to relieve the on duty team so they were not able to evacuate. Going to be a rough ride for them.
  9. Heaviest acorns in years and they started early. Need a helmet at times out in the yard. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  10. Deluge in Randolph. 1.45 in about 45 minutes. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  11. 5 minute deluge with gusty winds and thunder and lightning. Now just steady rain and rumbles. Nothing terribly exciting in north Randolph. But, we'll take the rain. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  12. If this was January and the red was 24+ with blizzard warnings, I'd be happy with this map! Now, not so much.
  13. Gotta go with the Warren Zevon version as he was truly knockin' on heaven's door when he recorded this. And if this miserable weather doesn't end soon, I'm gonna be joining him. I don't know how anyone can truly enjoy this weather.
  14. Out in Eastham on vacation. Not a drop of rain here, but watched the departing light show. Well, at least the dp is no longer 75! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  15. Jackson Browne was such a brilliant songwriter. Just listening to Before the Deluge now (since some on here have promised a deluge here this PM). Late for the Sky was fabulous, but For Everyman just edges it for me. Take It Easy, I Though I Was A Child, These Days . . .
  16. October 19, 1974. Amazing what you can find online these days.
  17. Enjoy! First time I saw him was mid 70s. Opening act was Bonnie Raitt.
  18. It was always planned for November and December because of the heat. Ridiculous idea to hold it there, but money (in the right pockets) has a way of making stupid things happen.
  19. Great season for Liverpool again. May 22 was my wife's 65th and we planned a trip to England to celebrate. Part of that was tickets for the City match at the Etihad. What an absolutely unbelievable match and celebration. Never experienced anything like it and don't think I ever will again. Those three goals in five and a half minutes are burned in my memory!!!
  20. Same here. 67 when I got up, briefly nudged 68, then the wind kicked up and now 63 and falling. Glad it's not summer yet! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  21. Napi's in Provincetown. Scallops Al Fredo! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  22. Hail twice last evening and wet snow flakes today. Happy Easter!
  23. I didn't think you could be a bigger a****** than you already were, but you have proved me wrong.
  24. Was thinking the same thing. Every operating system that automatically updates clocks for DST would have to be reconfigured. I don't know much about that, and maybe it is an easy fix, but there are probably lots of other systems that will need more attention.
  25. O Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen and down the mountainside The summer's gone and all the roses falling 'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide But come ye back when summer's in the meadow Or all the valley's hushed and white with snow 'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow O Danny boy, O Danny boy, I love you so When winter's come and all the flowers are dying And I am dead, as dead I well may be You'll come and find the place where I am lying And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me But I shall hear though soft you tread above me And all my grave shall warmer, sweeter be And you will bend and tell me that you love me And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me O Danny boy, the stream flows cool and slowly And pipes still call and echo 'cross the glen Your broken mother sighs and feels so lowly For you have not returned to smile again So if you've died and crossed the stream before us We pray that angels met you on the shore And you'll look down, and gently you'll implore us To live so we may see your smiling face once more Once more Also, the poem that was turned into "Over the River and Through the Woods" was written in 1844 which appears to be near the end of The Little Ice Age, so a snowy Thanksgiving was probably more common. Jerry might be able to confirm what Thanksgiving was like in 1844.
