  1. Flying to England on February 2nd, so you can probably look that in to %#@* up my travel plans,
  2. Right on the ocean. Apparently they are very fond of duck as well. Sent from my SM-T220 using Tapatalk
  3. What a treat. Snowy owl in Middletown RI. Seems to have taken up residence for the winter. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  4. As long as guests Don't Look Back in Anger! Think I'll try to find this place the next time I'm over there.
  5. Power is back a day ahead of schedule! Good luck to those of you still waiting.
  6. National Grid's estimate for our area in Randolph is late tomorrow evening. Will definitely be our longest outage ever. Can't imagine what it will be like when the "big one" finally hits NE. No generator, but good headlamps, lanterns and power banks for charging phones and tablets. Also we are able to light our gas stove for cooking. Good insulation, so house only dropped to 59 overnight. Yard is a mess, so I know what I will be doing on Sunday.
  7. Finally lost power at about 6:45. Think it's gonna be a while. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  8. Miraculously we still have power, but this has been nuts. Up since 3:00 with all the noise. Keep thinking it is letting up and it just comes roaring back. Can't imagine what the coast is like. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  9. Get a good headlamp. Much better. I grill all winter. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  10. If we can keep the torch going through the end of the month and into November the snow will have a hard time sticking to the warm pavement when it eventually comes. Nah, the angle of the sun will compensate for it especially if the snow falls at night.
  11. Airline tickets are definitely pricier than 18 months ago. Maybe once they have recouped some of the lost revenues, prices might drop. Fewer flights now too, at least on Aer Lingus. Going to London for a few days, then back north before I head home. Might go to the Huddersfield v Blackburn match on Tuesday. Definitely enjoyed last night's City match more than Saturday's! 12. Was there in 2005. Skye was great, and we loved Edinburgh. If you like Whisky, make sure you hit a distillery or two. Haggis! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  13. Any areas in mind yet? I've done a number of trips to Manchester and the northwest. If you are heading to that area, I am happy to give some suggestions. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  14. Incredible area. 45 minute train ride from Manchester, then 10 minute walk to trails. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  15. Amazing 8 mile ramble! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  16. Not the weather I expect to find in the North of England in September. Bluebird skies in the Peaks! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  17. City were poor, so many misplaced passes One shot on goal. Scored late but ruled offside. Not sure. Southampton defended well but started wasting time early. Sadly a draw was the correct result. Oh well, ready for a hike in the Peaks and back to the Etihad on Tuesday. Cheers. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  18. Aer Lingus is using an app called Verifly. You can load your vaccination info and passenger locator form to speed up the check-in process. Meanwhile, lovely day for a Manchester canal walk. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  19. I flew Aer Lingus thru Dublin. Ireland requires proof of vaccination but not proof of a negative covid test before travel. England required both plus I had to do a test within two days of arrival which I did at the Manchester Airport after landing. Already go the negative test result. Both required passenger locator forms, but not a big deal. More hoops than before covid, but in the end not a big deal. Surprised how few are wearing masks over here, but the vaccination rate is higher than the US. Great to be back here. Tomorrow is my first Manchester City match since before Covid. Can't wait! What airline are you flying? Aer Lingus made things pretty easy.
  20. Beer! First time back in England in 18 months. Started off with a fab local Manchester stout! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  21. Must have gone to the Sonny Jurgensen school of conditioning.
  22. That last cell just sat and pivoted over my head between 11 and midnight. Incredible rates and then it just shut off. Back yard is a now a pond. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  23. Insane final deluge put us over 5". Haven't seen prolonged rain like that in years! Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
