  1. Nice. Is that Bretton Woods? Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  2. I was in England 3 years ago when Hurricane Ophelia struck the British Isles. Main impacts were in Ireland and Wales, but did get a bit breezy around Manchester. I also have a vague recollection of another tropical storm or hurricane hitting Portugal or Spain a few years ago, but can't recall when.
  3. Nah, it was Stein Eriksen . . . he started the first ski season thread back on Eastern, or was it WWBB, and there was a snow drought that year.
  4. Low of 48 in the other Randolph. First time in the 40s for me.
  5. Still very active here, but some seem really small even by hummingbird standards.
  6. Has anyone else noticed smoke in the air the last two days? Wondering if it is from the California fires or something local.
  7. Mine too. They were probably the ones who were going. I think the first time I heard Bruce was someone blasting Spirit in the Night or Rosalita out of dorm room window. At least I had the good sense to see him on the Born to Run tour in the fall of 75.
  8. My freshman year at URI. I had seen the posters around campus. Some friends asked me if I wanted to go with them, but I was not a fan of Sha-Na-Na and had never heard of this Springsteen guy . . . and the rest is history.
  9. And Bruce actually wrote a verse about Wiz and his chasing . . . Talk about a dream, try to make it real You wake up in the night with a fear so real You spend your life waiting for a moment that just don't come Well, don't waste your time waiting
  10. Yeah, I remember getting home from work on Thursday and we already had about 3 or 4 inches . . . Pete was still going with washed away. We ended up with two feet of washed away!
  11. Down to 62 and pouring. Summer of yore like we remember from our younger days.
  12. Well, TV and adjustable platform bed got fried by the strike. Never lost power, but must have been quite a spike. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  13. Just had a strike in front of the house way too close for comfort. Saw the flash and heard the pop and sizzle. Amazingly it didn't seem to hit anything. I'm 66 now and never experienced lightning like that. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  14. Isn't Sweden actually pretty high for cases on that map?
  15. Absolutely ripping now. Worst of the storm here. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  16. Had a Striped Bass Reuben at Mac's in Eastham last week. Yum! But on a more serious, but less tasty, note; when can we expect the more serious stuff south of Boston. Breezy and steamy here now.
  17. Brown leaves and tiny brown acorns everywhere. I have to keep telling my wife that this is not an early fall, it is just stressed trees. Somehow our backyard still has green grass, must be the shade and dews.
  18. No, wasn't a fog bank. It was the last of the cloud cover that was moving offshore. When it moved past us,you could see the thickness of the layer. Just seemed unusual. Beautiful evening. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  19. Interesting thin low cloud deck this evening at Nauset Light Beach. Very sharp cutoff too. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  20. Warm water at Head of the Meadow in Truro yesterday. Must have been close to 70 which is bath water for the Outer Cape. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  21. Went to Nauset Light Beach yesterday afternoon near high tide. Ten feet from shore we were up to our waist. Seals were about 15 to 20 feet past that. Never turned our back to the ocean. Lovely evening. Stayed until 8 and it was more crowded than when we arrived. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  22. Nope. I'm 66, and I still despise this weather. Probably hate it more than when I was younger. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
  23. Out in Eastham for the week. Just back from a sweaty 12 mile bike ride. 91/75 at Chatham. Not a cloud to be seen. Wait until later to go to the beach. Brutal! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
