I wanted to post an update on new webcams and mesonet stations in the White Mountains. Mt Washington is expanding it's mesonet stations. New ones on the west side of the mountain. Loon has finally installed 4 webcams at different elevations on the mountain. Bretton Woods has cams as well as one on top of Cannon that is on the Mt Washington site. Waterville Valley has 2. For people like me this is all great news as I can get a better picture as what is going on to my north and you can see freezing levels with the mesonet. . Last year I made a donation to Mt Washington so they could install a north facing cam. They just contacted me again to see if I would be able to donate so they would have a west view too in a new window. If that happens, they would have summit cams in all 4 directions. I guess the cams bring in a lot of views.

Our 11" wet snowfall has compacted to 6 or 7". The last couple of days have made it above freezing for a few hours each afternoon. Down below freezing now and looks to stay awhile. I need to snow blow a big area for our dog. If anyone misses snow come on up for a visit. 1:45 trip up Rt 93 from downtown Boston

Don't be too jealous. I live on a dead end dirt road high on a hill. We are totally cut off right now from what i understand. A large oak fell across our road so about 10 houses have no way to get off the hill. I guess State Police have been called. Our highway department has only 2 guys in their 60s so this will be interesting to see how this plays out.

32.4F Last drops of flakes ending a some sprinkles. There was a bit more snow after this picture so I'll call it 11". This certainly was a birch bender. Seems like lots of tree damage. No power. About 1/2 our town is out. Hills above me got over a foot.

Yeah, we do better than intense storms that have strong NE winds off the whites. I watched your cam today. Not much but on the other side of Franconia Notch a different world. Don't worry, lots of upslope and snow squalls in your future. You will catch up fast to me!

32.2F +SN Vis 1/4" 4" My temperature should be spot on. The Vantage Pro is in the apple orchard and my Kestrel D3 is near my house. Both are 32.2F and temperature seems to be holding there. It's a matter of a short time before we lose power. White pine branches about to go. We have 2 jackery generators. Our solar roof is covered with snow and without a battery backup that wouldn't work. Wood stove is going and all is good!

SN 32.6F vis 1/2 mile est. Temperature slowly rose all morning, hitting 33.2F awhile ago. Now with the heavier band and what seems to be an increase in NE wind the temperature is falling back down. Going to be some power outages. Wonder if power companies have limited line crews with it being Thanksgiving?

32.9F -SN 2" Intensity, still quite light. Temperature is still inching up.

32.5F -SN The temperature keeps inching up. Snow intensity is light so perhaps with heavier echos it will inch back down to 32F

-SN 30.9F 1" Temperature keeps creeping up. Awaiting Brian's band moving in from the south

-SN 30.5F 1/2" accumulating on all surfaces. Vis is decreasing down to 3/4 mile or so. The temperature dropped to a low of 30F around 6am as snow started. It has been inching up since.

32.8F We will see what tomorrow brings. 1.20" of precip at 31F is okay but a 32.5 or 33F heavy snowfall is a birch bender power situation up on my hill. There will be a big difference of accumulation from me at 1100 feet to 1/2 mile down the road at 590 feet.

Looks like the Euro will end up being the winner. Snuffed out a stronger storm well before GFS came on board. My neighbors up here on my hill better get those turkeys cooked fast. Looks like quite the birch bender for me. This kind of SWFE/Nor'easters give me the biggest snow as the low isn't so strong that it down slopes me off the Whites. I will post obs tomorrow. After almost .50" of rain up here it is down to 30.9F and the roads are still wet. Probably some slick patios in the AM
