  1. Well here in the midlands of SC we had a year where it snowed on the coast and in the mountains but not here. It was like living in a winter weather comedy sketch and your neighborhood is the punch line. Anything is better than that, even no snow all around is better than that! Yeah, I am setting the bar pretty low here but that is the reality here in the middle of SC.
  2. Rolling along at 7.02” for the week. Last nights squall line dropped over an inch and felt like the word was ending with the amount lightning and thunder we had.
  3. Without a vaccine or other treatment a slow down in the summer if any will be met with a second wave in the fall. How this plays out is very uncertain and we are forced to just roll with it for now. I hope you all are safe and virus free.
  4. Well I leave near Columbia SC, cut my grass a month ago and only saw sleet once. For Columbia this winter ranks a solid B.
  5. Well we have sleet in Chapin, SC just west of Cola. Likely the best I am going to see this winter.
  6. 10 days out individual model runs do not matter much as the overall set up. According to all the posts I have seen, it is looking OK right now. Sit back, relax, drink a bourbon and just keep an eye on it. Excitement for me starts 5 days out, and confidence starts to build 3 days out, actual worry, joy, or call to action is at the less than 48 hours to go and much positivity across the board.
  7. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
  8. It was 86+ today depending on where you were, hot a humid, brutal. 5:30 front rolls through, big storm, heavy rain and the temperatures drop like stones. Currently 9pm and it’s 60, breezy and already drying out. Nice.
  9. Strong storms here, confirmed tornado in Lexington SC near 378 and Rt.1 very windy near me in Chapin.
  10. Confirmed tornado on the ground in Lexington SC, possibly 2.
  11. 10:00 AM, 67 degrees and fog, oh so much fog, fog, fog, fog, thick spooky fog.
  12. Disappointing 0.14 in the rain bucket this morning. Showers still around so hope is still out there.
  13. 0.43 down in the midlands of SC. Had the windows open and it was joyful to hear the rain and thunder outside instead of the A/C hum.
  14. 0.36 so far, hoping for more and that everyone scores something over night.
  15. 63 degrees with a dew point of 57. Yeah it’s humid but I will take it. We actually picked up around an inch and quarter rain so I have no complaints
  16. Well a surprise this morning. 69 degrees, 1.15” in the rain gauge this morning. Light drizzle falling. The gods have not forsaken the midlands of SC after all.
  17. Observation: It's HOT here in the midlands of SC
  18. So this tropical storm Karen is supposed to do a loop, turn west and possibly head our way. Is this really a thing?
  19. We have a blip of potential rain for Friday. Yeah, not betting on it but man do we need that rain. I am now looking up how to do Pagan Ritual Sacrifices in order to apeas the various rain gods just in case it might help. All Hail Freyr!
  20. Sure as heck have..... So far this has just been a FL thing.
  21. Living near Columbia I have already switch to snow denial mode in a feeble attempt to reduce the severity of the inevitable let down. Heck one year it snowed west of me then east along the coast. Felt like I was living in a weather related practical joke. The emotional toll (and resulting liquor expenditures) for every missed snow chance was more than a little frustrating.
  22. 1.23” in the old rain gauge this morning. A small thunderstorm rolled over us last night and we got lucky.
  23. Score! 1.0 yesterday, one 30 min storm.
