  1. Too muddy to fish. Did get some casting lessons in and grabbed lunch at a nice restaurant so it was a an ok day. We will try again soon.
  2. Well I am going to get fly fishing lessons Sunday at Davidson River Outfitters. Yeah it’s gonna be rough for fishing but what the hell. I have two teenaged boys who are going to learn the basics with me. Hey a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.
  3. Well we had a very brief shower here in Chapin SC. I been seeing dust devils lately with it being so darn dry so even a little is appreciated. Of course I am going to Brevard this Sunday to fish on the Davidson River, I hope it's not a wash out. I will fish in the rain so long as its not a thunderstorm.
  4. As much as I am rooting for this to be true. this sounds a lot like our winter discussion of pattern changing snow in the long range kind of thing. I have given up on my lawn (weed patch) and just trying to keep the gardens from getting baked alive.
  5. Ok “Charlie Brown Football” is going into my lexicon of dadisms I now need to say.
  6. After a series of winter storms giving us rounds of -> high hopes ->crushing disappointment -> repeat. I am not buying into anything more than 100 hours out and hell this time of year 72 hours is still suspect.
  7. Tornado Watch Posted for most of the south east corner of SC.
  8. It would be hilarious if this verified. I will try and schedule a test for all of my classes around that time to get the karma aligned to help make it happen. Hey I am willing to do what I can. We lost days due to the fall hurricane around here, now a late season snow storm to cost us a few days and destroy any hope of decent AP-physics scores this year. Yeah that would be classic.
  9. It was 80 degrees according to the thermometer in my car, officially 79 in Cola. I really need to mow my lawn.
  10. House full of people last night, needed to put the A/C on to make bearable. 74 yesterday and humid as hell, weeds green and growing. I likely have to cut the lawn next weekend.
  11. I know that not likely to happen, but DAMN, that would be fun. Artic Hammer!
  12. 0.22" over 23 days. Most of that 0.15 was 10 days ago. We are getting very dry with ever more dry ahead.
  13. 0.02, haven't had decent rain in a while. Starting to dry out a bit overall.
  14. Condolences for the loss of your beloved pet, especially the manner that it happened.
  15. Very loud and stormy last evening but only 0.15 in the rain bucket.
  16. 0.56 this morning, I can not recall a period of rainy weather quite like this, amazing.
  17. 0.19” this morning in the rain gauge. 4.96” over the last 6 days, 6.53” over the last two weeks. Yards pretty much run from very soggy to standing water with clouds of mosquito vermin in waiting.
  18. 1.64” today. Damn it’s getting soggy around here.
  19. 1.68" this morning, finally getting on the action around here.
  20. Jburns is correct here, it's the whole system that needs replacing. In one way it's a good thing, newer systems are more efficient and work better. Toss in a smart thermostat and you can recoup you up front cost over time. If you get this fixed I suggest you get some estimates for new systems while this one is still going. Then you can weigh what to do, what SEER rating you want to pay for etc. Shed is painted, well mostly, ran out of paint. So after the rain I have to do the touch up and finish the trim. 97+ degrees and painting a shed was hell.
  21. I agree, I wonder if we have any HVAC installers on this list who have advice for selecting brands, seer ratings etc. oh yeah, back to weather. Damn it’s hot! Desperately painting my shed before next week rain. Damn it’s hot.
  22. I had my A/C go out, it was the starting capacitor and not too expensive to fix. Good luck getting your looked at. I highly recommend getting on a maintance contract with an installer. Mine come out 2X a year to check, clean and lubricate various parts. Also with a 1993 system you going have to start thinking about a new system. That’s a whole other can of worms. Good luck.
  23. Very true statement, and a pox upon your immortal soul for reminding us flat landers of what is to come. https://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/pox+on
