Nope, two at most. It doesn't seem like it has been all that hot, unpleasant enough to keep me from doing some stuff yes but not as brutal as it could have been. I think if the pseudo drought had continued and things really dried out it would be a different story and we'd be seeing crazy high temps. I think I'd almost rather it be dry though as the humidity is a killer when you want to do outside things.

Stuffy doesn't quite describe the air this morning, 73/72 and dense clouds with no air movement make for somewhat less than pleasant conditions for doing anything outside. I got .2" in the end of day rain yesterday so everything is soaked down making for a happy garden but not conducive to doing active outdoor things.

It mostly slid south then blew up east of me, I ended up with .17"

Next two days don't look like beach days.

Yup it has to be a full cage. I'm not prepared for that. Yet. It's just such a bummer to throw all that time and a bunch of money at it and then see something else eat it. I'm gonna keep plugging away and keep planting until I run out of time. I have a ton of seeds left so I'm going for it. It seems like I have plenty of time on my hands as my industry is literally selling out of products so I'm running out of things to sell and have no real reason to be on the road this year. Of course, im not earning squat either which pretty much sucks.

89/73 Yuck

Hyakutake was amazing. In 1996 my girlfriend (now wife) and I drove here from CO at the end of March and for 3 nights it was huge across the windshield. When we went over one of the Continental Divide passes it was -40*F and crystally clear and that thing was just incredible. The next night in central NE on US Rt 34/36 where it's about as dark as dark can be was another incredible experience.

Damned critters are getting more benefit out of my garden now than I am. Yesterday I lost about 40 melons, they even ate most of the female flowers that had just been pollinated and had small fruits started. The previous two days they'd ripped open the corn stalks and devoured the cobs forming inside the stalks and this morning almost all of the second plantings were dug up. I'm so bummed, hundreds of hours are being destroyed and I can't seem to stop it. Last night I fell asleep in a pile of sweat sitting on the patio with a pellet gun in my hand and almost popped myself in the foot.

And the AC in my car is spewing water all over the floor so I can't use it for more than a minute or two at a time. PITA getting up under the dashboard in a sports car

93 here on my hill with a station near town at 97. I've been sitting outside in the shade for a few hours and it's not bad, mid 80's, but the air is heavy and oppressive.

That's the plan. Now I just need to figure out where it's actually dark enough.

We are planning on getting there tomorrow morning when they open so we can get a few hours before it gets busy. We went to Misquamicut in RI last week and the place was packed which made it less than no fun. Tomorrow, Monday, morning will the fog be like that as far west as Robert Moses?

Now that you mention it I remember that. You've been ahead of the curve longer than the rest of us One all time record high per decade is ok with me. If it was the same number of record high minimums we've seen imagine what our air conditioning bills would be We'd be looking at something similar to the climate in Dallas.

The high minimum theme continues I think there's (almost) a silver lining to it though, if it was 4-6* above avg for highs we'd be looking at some really hot daytime temps (as opposed to just unpleasant).

KDXR at 81* @ 10.30am. Once that fog burned off this morning it was off to the races. 68 @ 9am so, up 13 in 90 minutes.

I just have to let "the rest of the crew" know that it's not all about dry, humid and hot. It's been below avg high temps here again so far this month. I haven't looked at lows so I don't know where it stands overall. While the precip numbers are well below a lot of areas, like yours, it has been consistently wet without needing to really water the garden more than a couple of times all month.

Since that initial .05 shower early this morning it's only stopped for about 30 minutes. It has been a steady heavy mist ever since adding another .05 and it's just miserable outside right now. Things had just barely dried out after Fay last weekend and now it's thoroughly soaked and soggy again. Amazing how such small amounts can be so impactful sometimes. Looks like another day where it will be a stretch to reach 75, it's 67* now.

That unexpected rain this morning messed me all up. For only being .05" it thoroughly soaked everything back down and I'm not sure I want to go mt biking early like I planned. No wind isn't helping to dry it out.

This is a dense and wet overcast this morning. That burst of rain late yesterday (.15") soaked everything and with the clouds it's staying really cool out with temps locally at 65*.

I'm going to say it's for the sake of consistency. The station had been used for a long time and even though it was moved a few years ago it's still in range of the original site so qualifies for consistency's sake. I do agree with you though that it hasn't been properly representative of the area for quite some time though and should either be moved or disregarded in favor of one that is more appropriate.
