Storm total here from most recent storm: Snowfall for the event: 13.5". Was tricky to measure mid and late storm with the increasing wind and sleet mixed in at times. Changed to sleet here for no more than 30 minutes mid afternoon then went back to snow with just a few periods on intermittent sleet until it ended about 9:00 last night. I'd say 95% of the storm here was snow. Snow depth from current storm at 8 this morning was 12" even - total snow depth (includes snow on the ground prior to this event and some compaction of new snow pack) is 14". Drifts on the north side of house 20-24", even a bit higher in a few spots. Waiting on the cylinder to melt down so I can get a melted total and a ratio.

Been mostly light to sometimes moderate snow here last 2 hours. Some sleet mixed in at times. Not been out to measure. Will take measurements in the morning. Winds really gusting so lots of blowing show from rooftops. Currently 13 degrees. Also, someone stole about 17” of my snow. Busted Apple weather app. Winds really howling.

They are too busy with hair, makeup and wardrobe.

5:30 11.8 degrees. Light snow. Just came in from a measurement. Getting a little difficult to measure as winds a really gusting at times. Storm total 12" even. North side of the house drifts to 20-24". As wintry a day (temperature and snowfall combined) as we see around here. Everyone should be happy. Things went pretty much as advertised. Slightly exceed my expectations in my area. Was thinking a storm total of 9-11" here and I'm currently at 12.

Off topic for here but looks like parts of TN are getting ravaged by ZR. Nashville and Memphis especially being hard hit. Massive power outages underway with rapidly falling temperatures. Carry on.....

Back when Tonka trucks were solid and had some heft. All plastic now.

There were several SR models that showed the mix / change line flirting with or getting just north of I80 then retreating. Looks like that is what is happening. That is something the NAM did not show. The NAM surged the warm nose well north into Rockland and Westchester it looks to be retreating now. The flaw with the NAM was the northward extent of the mix. Windy here now with light to sometimes moderate snow. Change / mix with sleet here was 30 minutes. I would not expect it to move back north at this point.

Yes. MUCH fluffier early on. When I shoveled the top half of the depth was much more dense.

Used to hate that when I was a kid and we had on street parking. Digging out the car was an absolute pain in the arse.

Can confirm. Back to all snow here. I had cleared off snowboard at 10.3 and just measured a fresh .7" - brings total up to an even 11. Went out to clear the Generac unit and basement mini split on north side of the house and solid drifting gong on along that side of the house.

Going back and forth between mostly sleet to a 50/50 mix. Getting pretty breezy. Temp up to 11.

More sleet than snow now.

1:50 PM 50/50 snow sleet mix Just measured 10.3” About 1” in last 50 minutes.

Pinging here with snow / sleet mix now. 9.1 degrees. Going to take a measurement before compaction.

1:45 and heaviest snow of the event so far. Expect to mix / change here within the next 30 min or so. My buddy in Mt. Laurel changed to sleet at 11:30 and measured 5.8" at change time.

Let us know when you start to mix. You are pretty much due south of me by about 15 or so miles.

Buddy in Pittstown measuring 8" and sleet now.

1:00 7.9 degrees and 9.5”. Picked up 2.8” last two hours.

My buddy in Pittstown, NJ western Hunterdon county is now reporting sleet. He is going to get me a measurement.

Sleet line advancing. Expect I will be pinging in about 90 minutes or maybe a little longer.

Currently 6.6 degrees with moderate to sometimes heavy snow. Will take another measurement at 1:00 but rough visual estimate is at or just over 8”.

That sleet line is advancing folks....it was expected and if anything, it is ahead of schedule. My thought was always to at least route 80 and the NJ/NY border and even a little north of there was always in play. Enjoy what we have it is beautiful out there. So far rates and ratios have saved the day getting us to the range of most of the reasonable forecasts. Things are pretty much on schedule accumulation wise I think.
