Driving home this morning I noticed the Crofton pond is frozen bank to bank. Similar for the swamp and Bell Branch. Somewhat significant for December. 20f for my low temp. Currently 30.

Clearly, they saw your AmWx post. Nothing here at 5:40 then suddenly heavy moderate snow at 5:50. Light now. About 1/4".

Partially snow covered roofs still quite common in Bowie on the drive to work. There's a small church that has significant snow on their main roof, as if they were in a different storm than all the neighbors. Finally occurred to me that the nave isn't heated during the week. Probably be gone before Sunday anyway. (Praise the Lord and melt the roof.)

Looks like I'll finish November with 1.11" rainfall. Drier than many, I believe. Lowest temp 22, highest 65.

Went out again 1 hour later and it was genuine dzl. Needed windshield wipers and everything. Might've started briefly as a few flurries, dunno.

Just came in from dog walk. Would swear I had some flurries hitting my skin. There was something in the flashlight beam. Very light, and not dzl mist.

Much of it is hereditary. I went 32 years between my first laminectomy and my fusion. The fusion is a big deal, but it did work. My heart leapt for joy when I read Leesburg's post. You can see the relief in his writing. Much to thank God for this Thanksgiving. Leesburg...don't you shovel too much snow just yet. Slow and steady makes it. BTW, I still wear a back brace to shovel. Cuts down on fatigue if nothing else. Good habit to get into. ETA: I've haven't seen many success stories with the standard steroid injections. But it's simple enough to try.

First rays of sunshine all day just hitting us here in PGCo at 3:30 pm . I'm pretty sure we haven't had a flake of snow here. Maybe a flurry will wander through.

Considering Mr. Homenuk's forecast; (weak el nino), I get an expectation of very snowy NE winter with systems that give us slush and rain. Just get a look at that QBO chart too. Thanks for posting.

Looking at the years mentioned by LWX in today's AFD for record low temps, I compared annual snowfall amount for those years viz: 1911 - 22.4" 1920 - 7.9 1926 - 8.5 1957 - 43.0 1963 - 51.8 1986 - 35.2 1988 - 8.3 1996 - 15.3 for convenience, here are the years as they printed it: Site Low 11/12 Low 11/13 High 11/13 Low 11/14 DCA 24/1926 22/1911 31/1911 19/1920 BWI 18/1957 22/1911 32/1911 18/1986 IAD 22/1988 21/1963 38/1996 13/1986 (most are low; some are low max) I'm inclined to ignore the 1920 and 1926 because they appear for DCA only. Common to BWI and IAD are 1986 and 1988. One good, one bad. Inconclusive; (like most winter long range); but overall about half good, half bad. The BWI only years, 1911, 1957, 1986, were all average or well above.

Reading October low records, (insane IMO) has me starting to seek out winter analogs all over again. This month will become one of those historical maps we refer back to, like 1985 or 1989.

Morning fog won't let go here in PGCo. I'm a bit surprised.
