  1. Stronger sun just breaking though at Annapolis. (10:45 am) Was quite overcast all morning with a swooshing low level cloud that I'm not quite capable of identifying. Last night's gauge reading 0.01" (Bleh)
  2. Solid one dot rain here now. Shouldn't complain, it was a pleasant day, hi 68. Happy Christmas all. May the grace of the Christ Child be with you. (Remember, He is known as El Nino)
  3. Midnight low of 36.5f according to the Davis. Was below freezing in the evening. Warmed to 39 by dawn.
  4. -- that's the boldest forecast we've seen... Obviously hasn't read the MA Forum Snowfall Contest.
  5. 0.13" overnight. Clearing enough to see the moon now. 33f ETA: Fog. Don't forget patchy fog.
  6. But...we were all 28 years younger then. (Strong as an ox, and nearly as smart.)
  7. Low hanging fruit. Hard to believe that 64 hasn't been broken. Would only take a departure of 18f. (I can't believe I'm replying to this crazy thread)
  8. FInished November with only 1.02" at my place. (Pretty sure I'm at one of the low spots) Lowest 25f, highest 75.
  9. 26f, widespread frost. Windshield scraping and everything. Ice on the river. Like winter.
  10. BWI - 17.1” DCA - 11.2” IAD - 18.3” RIC - 9.4” SBY - 6.2”
  11. 29 for my low. Have 13 days in Nov reaching 32 or colder at my (typically warm) station. No snow here yet. Overcast.
  12. I can't believe you didn't cut class to check. What's more important, after all? New overcast deck blowing in here. Haven't seen any precip yet.
  13. That amount of snow has trapped someone? Shouldn't the roof at least be covered? Now we know how those in wintery places feel when they read about Fairfax Schools.
  14. 0.20" overnight Currently windy with a bit of clearing.
  15. Skim ice on both the swamp and the river this morning on the drive in.
  16. Well of course, now that the contest is decided they turned off the heater. (We should be flattered they watch us so closely) You inspired me to look, and it shows Mannassas went to 17. Dang. Teens and 20s into VA and the Carolinas. Tallahassee went to 28f.
  17. Not much bio information about Doug Hill on the net, but I saw this article, and think most AmWx members would like to read it: https://www.somdnews.com/recorder/news/local/veteran-broadcaster-hill-makes-the-switch-from-weather-to-the-ministry/article_7694b20a-7c43-587c-98c4-01f39d2dbf04.html Youngsters note that Mr. Hill didn't have a college degree, and even with the USAF, (one of the biggest names in weather), he was not assigned to a weather detail.
  18. True....but Nov 20 however....those stations were all in the 20s while DCA still clung to 33. Andrews 25, I think, so that's 8 degrees right there. Nat'l Arboretum was 28. DaleCarlia was 27. I'm not digging into the reasons, wind direction etc, but just to make an honest comparison.
  19. Low of 26. And beautiful sunshine.
  20. About 0.40" in the gauge and still raining.
  21. .....with numbers like that. You were shooting for 55 (I think). I don't pretend to know what's a top number, but don't sell yourself short. Aim high.
  22. https://www.weather.gov/wrh/climate?wfo=lwx I think WxUSAF said DCA so that's what I looked at.
