  1. Yep. It sure is a beauty out there now but it will take a lot more to get the driveway clear. Here’s a shot of part of it, north facing and stone FTL this time of year.
  2. Finally got above freezing for the first time since last Monday, looking forward to the driveway becoming less treacherous over the next couple of days.
  3. Impressive. The UPS driver at work wears shorts year round. I love wearing shorts and push the season on both ends but that’s a bit extreme IMO
  4. Wearing shorts to go for a run, ok...now if someone wears shorts to sit on a bench and watch the surf at 33 degrees, that would be a hardy soul LOL
  5. Same here, it’s been a long time since he and I have been in contact.
  6. He was years ago for sure, he and I would chat about conditions on the Hudson around Newburgh.
  7. Yeah, last night was 7-8 degrees above the forecast. Still impressive ice on everything though.
  8. It’s a solid coating on everything, it’s a freaking winter wonderland out there. It counts in my records as well.
  9. It’s difficult to capture in a photo (except maybe for @Juliancolton) just how gorgeous sunset was here tonight with ice still on everything. As the wind blows you can hear the nice creaking and cracking. Deep winter.
  10. We should've know you're one of those people that takes photos with the wrong orientation...
  11. Had a decent squall come through central Orange County in the past hour, best one I've seen in a few years.
  12. Euro showing 55 for Christmas Eve, break out the jorts!
  13. If one is looking to kill some time, there's some decent virtual snowchasing today via traffic cams upstate, seen a few whiteouts already: https://511ny.org/
  14. Yeah, Boxing Day is on my favorites list up here, 18” and some terrific drifting enhanced by the open farm fields around me.
  15. Yeah, it’ll be nice to get some of this .4” of ice off the trees before the winds tomorrow night. My driveway is a lost cause, thankfully that raging pacific jet (wish I had a quarter for every time that phrase is used) will warm things up this weekend.
  16. Nice...that will give us all a bigger buffer zone...
  17. Clearly temps there to roast weenies. Winter's over.
  18. One doesn’t need to drive to northern Maine to almost hit a moose, you can do that in CT.
  19. Boy is someone going to be pissed that your pipes aren’t gonna freeze...
  20. The required two guys responsible for hoisting mine (sometimes myself included) into the bed of a pickup often muttered the same thing but alcoholic beverages can be a great motivator for some.
