  1. 22.3”, second worse season here with 15-16 still the worst at 12.1”. A couple other years close to this one are 26.8” in 06-07 and 23.5” in 11-12. Lowest temp of the season here was 7 on 12/8 and again on 2/15.
  2. Some folks at work have to deal with PM 2.5 on a regular basis. I’ll have to remember to ask them if they can share a link.
  3. Wow! I knew the air was getting better but thats impressive. I just went to that site and have to get familiar with but see Newburgh is in the low 30’s this morning.
  4. We’ve been getting in at least two miles a day around the park...we actually prefer when it’s not too nice out as it keeps more people away from the park... And...are you feeling ok? I know someone up here that thought she just started seasonal allergies but then lost her sense of taste and smell and then tested positive.
  5. My coworker tested on 3/18 took 12 days, my grandson tested on 3/25 took 7 days, both fortunately were negative. Hang in there thoughts with you and everyone dealing with this first hand. It was a dank windy day out there today.
  6. How are you and your mom doing?
  7. It would be nice if they didn’t rush the baseball season thus possibly screwing up the football season.
  8. I’m finally free from voluntary quarantine and my infant grandson had to get tested yesterday, thankfully his fever broke last night though...not a fan of the new normal but at least the yard is all cleaned up and ready for spring and summer! Hope you all are well during these crazy times, especially our first responders.
  9. A beautiful snow and sleet covered landscape this morning.
  10. Flipped back to moderate snow here now which is accumulating again on all surfaces
  11. .5” as of 8am here near Campbell Hall, light snow continues.
  12. Yea, there are no food shortages but at least in the OC the trucks are about 36 hours behind. If people just calmed the hell down and stopped hoarding there would be zero issues with the shelves being empty. Hoping for a picturesque snowfall tomorrow morning, we shall see.
  13. Now that I raked half the yard I’m sure I’ll get enough snow on the trees to bring down plenty of twigs.
  14. I’d be shocked if there was leaf out along 17 even with the mild weather but it’s coming. There are buds around here and some bushes have some small leaves starting to emerge. I did have crocus bloom this week.
  15. We should still approach the afternoon with an abundance of caution...
  16. I don’t see any lightning strikes on Radar Scope
  17. Work is nuts with COVID-19 preparations but I digress, woke up before dawn to .1" so I'm on the board for March! Winning...
  18. Well its much better now than back in the days of steam locomotives and journal bearing trucks which is where the old "hot box" term comes from but diesels and roller bearings can still cause problems when they malfunction and/or break. I know that when the rail grinder train comes through it has a water tank car with it and they spray water down as it passes to prevent brush fires. That said, I have no idea what work train was operating there on Monday, not that it matters at this point sadly.
  19. Looks like the MTA now admits that a work train locomotive was indeed the culprit, reminds me of 5 years ago already: https://www.recordonline.com/article/20150427/NEWS/150429413
  20. I wondered that too but also read a social media post that it started with a downed power line but my first thought was also a railroad issue as a downed power line doesn't jive with all of those individual areas of smoke .
  21. One of the many shots from the Town of Fishkill PD Facebook page.
