  1. Vivid lighting and booming thunder around 2am woke me up despite the AC and a fan running which typically drowns out all other noise, lasted 20-30 minutes, picked up .65”
  2. I agree, COVID has screwed up the passage of time for me as well, I'm usually fired up for fall starting around now but this year I don't know what day, week, month, or season it is, and that has nothing to do with beer consumption. I find that interesting as following the weather is one of the few hobbies I have that COVID has not affected in one way or another but its still hard to believe we are in mid August already. As far as the back of summer being broken, that is clearly subjective. In my mind, breaking the back doesn't mean no more hot days or warm evenings as it appears to mean to others, it means we get some breaks in that, like this morning with a fresh air feeling 57 for the low IMBY. I have no doubt my AC's will be fired up again this season, probably this weekend, but at least the streak of running AC is broken for me as we look forward to some really nice, windows open, nights this week.
  3. That’s why I go to Hatteras Island OBX every couple of years, I don’t like the beach enough to have people all around me. When and where we go if there is another party set up within 50 feet of you it’s a busy day, that’s how I like to beach.
  4. Well it hasn’t rained since I got it online....maybe tomorrow...need a shift north. Got it registered with CWOP this week too for what that’s worth. Thanks for asking and thanks from your help.
  5. Just saw some video of it on Reed Timmers page, wow.
  6. I did get to New Hampshire for a weekend in February but that’s it. Labor Day weekend I typically go to Vermont with my buddies for a guys weekend as Mt Snow has their Brewers Festival but it’s cancelled, thanks COVID-19. The last time we missed it was when Irene canceled it. It’s always a good time and it’s a rite of passage for us into the start of fall as we enjoy the cooler mountain air...and lots of beer and debauchery...oh well.
  7. Lovely photo. Northern New England does late summer well pretty much every year. Oh, and don’t forget the sunblock...
  8. Now you’re going to fire up the hot weather weenies
  9. And now you have become a foundation for this forum along with @donsutherland1 and @uncle W likely causing others to join and get involved unlike myself...causing people to put me on block LOL. Best wishes Unc!
  10. A bead of sweat formed on my brow just reading this, thats miserable, glad you found some relief.
  11. @Juliancoltonstill have fireflies here...you?
  12. I’ve been there, hang in there, the elation you’ll feel when it does come back will be awesome.
  13. I use the extension cords I use for my outdoor Christmas lights.
  14. You should move, that's all ridiculous. I just run the extension cords, not that big a deal for even a week to me.
  15. Yep, lots of stories of bad things happening when backfeeding, which is why its illegal. Just have a transfer switch installed and you'll be good to go but keep in mind how many watts your generator is capable of in relation to how many watts your house calls for at peak. I've also heard stories of folks doing a number on their appliances because the proper wattage is not available for them to run correctly.
  16. Pressure bottomed out here at 997.5mb at 2:46pm, I’m curious what you guys got down to so fire away
  17. You turned off your main breaker into the house, correct? If you didn’t you and the power crew as are going to have an issue they are working on the line and when the power comes back.
  18. I haven’t heard from Mom so I’m guessing she’s still waiting. A tree took three poles down on 94 across from ABC Pizza
  19. You can rest easy knowing that my power came back.
