6.5" here now. 2" in last half hour. Crazy.

Temp dropped another 2F in last 45 minutes. Down to 30F now. Low vis. Really ripping under that band.

All I can say is that if the long-standing GFS has been so accurate, why are they replacing it? It is not getting an upgrade as has been done in the past and has been done with the Euro. It is being replaced.

Unless you know the accuracy of it around the globe, you just can't say it's a local issue.

Instead of dealing with data issues on the v16 and FV3, NCEP should commission a team to study why all of its models are so different so close in this winter. It's not enough to say that each model has its own idiosyncrasies, because garbage in = garbage out.

The Ukie has a drop of 23mb in 18 hrs. If only we can get that just a bit more to the NW.

Granted it's the RAP, but it's pretty meh...

No they weren't. Their call from 7pm Mon to 7am Tue was for an additional 6-8 inches for my area. We were lucky to get 2-3 inches more after 7pm. We had no more than 6 inches total of heavy wet slop for the entire storm. I snow blowed it at 10-11 pm, and there was nothing further when I got up the next morning.

They busted big time with that 12-18" call over most of SNE, including areas S of Boston, as that last system was on our doorstep.

Their video shows 1-3" for Boston and surrounding areas, 3-5" on cape and NYC.
