  1. I jacked on the last 2 storms, so I'm pulling for the hat trick on this one.
  2. Goofus still a sheared mess, although qpf did tick up, but nowhere near what other models show.
  3. If it goes any further S than it did at 18z, it'll be closer to Bermuda than to us, lol.
  4. Almost a carbon copy. Meanwhile the goofus is way south and meh.
  5. Only the Ukie has said no to this, and the Canadian has been meh.
  6. Not a good look for winter enthusiasts at the end of the EPS run:
  7. I give it a solid B, with two storms overproducing in this area for Feb. If it weren't for that, I would have had to give it a C-.
  8. 0z GFS says in my hood after Wednesday we don't see another 40°F reading until the following Wednesday, with most days not getting above freezing. Too bad there is zero QPF. Back to cold and dry January scenario. Of course we will warm to the 50's thereafter with some QPF.
  9. They probably didn't realize how high those rates were until the utility hit their credit card. Also, they would have had more problems with pipes freezing and bursting with no power.
  10. I could have shown the 240 hr totals which are almost as bad.
  11. Here's a good reason not to have a variable rate utility plan: "Royce Pierce and his wife, Danielle, who live in Willow Park, west of Dallas, have been watching their electricity bill tick up by nearly $10,000 in the last few days for their three-bedroom home. While the family told NBC News they consider themselves lucky because they’ve had power, the financial burden has come with additional challenges. Since the family is on a variable rate plan with Griddy, the company automatically debits the bill as they use electricity. Danielle said she closed the debit card connected to their electricity bill because Griddy wiped it out. The family has been using separate accounts and credit cards to pay for necessities as the storm goes on." Also, another good reason not to have your bills paid automatically to your debit or credit card.
  12. The differences in these two iterations of the GFS is becoming embarrassing:
  13. Quite the difference in temps at 6z tonight between the Euro and the GFS for my hood. 4°F vs. 16°F, at least according to Pivotal's take:
  14. Let's see if the new GFS is ready for prime time - medium range and long range :
  15. That early Feb system where we got 5 inches of glop, we were just on the line. I'll bet Blue Hill received well over a foot on that one.
  16. That 68 must be for Blue Hill. We jacked here in the last 2 storms and have around 50, so yeah, Norwood doesn't have 59. They are only about 1 1/2 mi away as the crow flies.
  17. Day 9 on the 18z GFS would just about destroy most packs in SNE, with temps tickling 60°F and heavy rain.
  18. Did a measurement again this morning before snow blowing. Final amount was 7.5". There may have been some compaction, but I'll ignore that. The snow was not as fluffy as I thought, especially in the bottom third. But the asphalt driveway may have accounted for some melting in the lower portion even though it is still slightly below freezing now.
  19. Nice event for SNE. I'd take a couple more of these in the next month, lol.
