  1. GFS is so, so, so close to an absolute bomb but everything is just a bit sloppy
  2. Looking H5 vort at hour 87 and I think the GFS is going to be better, it may even cave more or less fully to the Euro. The southern shortwave isn’t outrunning the tpv
  3. Honestly at hour 126 the risk the cmc is taking is actually too inland of a track
  4. I have states for swimming that Saturday if that helps
  5. Cannot believe I missed that in real time because of a math test
  6. May be one of the best 5 posts in a row I’ve seen on the forum
  7. I think the GEFS may be better than its 6z run
  8. Well no matter what the Euro shows this forum will certainly blow up
  9. I think the Icon is going to be a good hit
  10. I will be honest I did not think it had a chance at getting even close to organized.
  11. Sadly the GGEM sucks, disjointed mess with no snow even close to us
  12. This storm reminds me a lot of my childhood storms of the early 2010s through 2015 with a thick heavy snow followed by a cloudy day and then rain. It’s a little nostalgic
  13. 4.5 inches measured on the deck, the radar looks good all the way out into west VA so hoping to wake up and measure 5in tomorrow morning. Def happy with the storm and got to spend a lot of time out with it but just wish it would’ve been a bit further northwest.
  14. I know I’m doing better than you right now but is a bit frustrating knowing that some of my friends going to the same high school as me have 2+ more inches on the ground right now and have no idea what’s happening. At least it’ll help close down fcps
  15. Can feel you on this it seems like the really good banding down near Burke just never could make it up another 5-10 miles to my backyard. Can’t complain too much either way considering how areas further north are doing…
  16. Crazy the gradient that set up right over ffx county, out near Franklin farm with 4.3
  17. Just shy of 4 inches after going on an hour jebwalk with a friend, it truly is a beautiful landscape out there.
  18. Around 2.8 inches of snow, hoping I can at least reach 4 or 5 inches. Seems like the best banding for FFx county was through Oakton and Reston was a bit outside it.
  19. Wonder how the CWG person who authorized saying a bust was likely based off the HRRR is feeling right now
  20. Will say when I went to take some snowflake pictures I couldn’t really get any “nice” dendrites, hoping snow growth could get a bit better as the night goes on
  21. Up to around 1.25 inches, measured from the deck not any snowboard which is why I suspect the slightly lower totals compared to those near me. Will probably just use iads measurements
  22. Managed to snag some nice pictures of deer, cardinals and another bird while out!
