    So it looks like the GFS around 66 hrs has less of that windmax....so in theory it would less of a hit?

    Amazing that a difference in the strength of a s/w, only a few days out could be the difference between rain/snow/whiff....clearly this potential is very intricate and won't be resolved until we are well within NAM time, lol...

    That would be a rough way run the first true cold shot of the season...flooding to cold and dry. Hopefully the ensembles show something, cause that would definitely cause some panic for those that haven't gotten much so far.

    3.38" here....peak gust on my station was 23, usually add 15-20 onto that, so 40ish...not terrible. I can here the neighborhood creek roaring

    AN would be fantastic, but down here I am just hoping to beat last year's pathetic 12.1".....Next will be more inches of snow than inches of rain? The past 2 years really does remind me of what it was like living in the Mid Atlantic before their climate went all South Carolina-like. Hopefully we get a good snowy stretch late January/February and then clear it out and actually have a decent Spring this year.

    Winds are starting to roar out there as we speak....no where near what they were a couple weeks back, but not quiet either. Running water everywhere, flooding should be pretty impressive tomorrow at this rate...

    I just noticed today that my pool water level is just below the cover...guess I will be out shoveling the mini glacier trying to access it so I can pump some water out before the great flood. I know as some point it is going to get cold enough to freeze and cause damage to the liner....I have had to pump out so much water from that thing since late June... When law of averages take over, it is going to drought like Southern Cal.

    4.6" total in Southbury....final burst was nice and salvaged what was a pretty meh storm. Kids had a great time regardless...

    Had 3.1" around 12:15 before the sleet and eventually rain took over...hit 35.1⁰ around 5 am, back down to 33.3⁰ with some light snow...hopefully we can pick up a couple refresher inches later, but not expecting much...congrats to those in the north!

    1.8" so far here in Southbury, 30.4 atm....had a bit of a lull earlier and is starting to pick back up now

    Yeah, it's coming....that dryslot will bring it....hopefully we are shoveling 5-7 inches before it...then watch it switch back tomorrow for another 1-3 Edit....Seymour ninjd me

    Got down to 14⁰ this morning...still sitting at 23⁰. Clouds are pretty thick already, lets keep the ground nice and cold for the snow when it comes in. Hoping for 4-8 here, but always fear the dryslot cutoff/earlier changeover in this area with that low tucking in like mesos are showing right now. Soon time to nowcast the first batch and watch what happens tomorrow....Good luck! Biggest storm here, last year was 5", hopefully we can top that.

    Thanks....hopefully a later start time, they already canceled everything on Sunday, but have a feeling they are going to try and get as many games in tomorrow as possible. Hopefully a better idea by morning...

    Sorry about the imby question, but thoughts on start time tomorrow and is this thing coming in like a wall of snow? Travel bball games tomorrow, game in Ridgfield from 3 to 415...just a bit worried about getting stuck in what I would assume will be a traffic disaster coming back to Southbury. Thanks!

    If I recall it has a cold bias.....always gave us more snow than reality(most of those clowns do, but that one in particular)

    Hopefully this isn't one of those 4-6 inch forecasts that ends up 1-2 inches that quickly changes to sleet and light rain...35⁰ for most of the day Sunday that then freezes everything after the sun goes down type events Just let us enjoy some sledding Sunday and Monday before we need the kayaks and generators....

    waiting on the Euro, but so far according to the clown maps our region should expect anywhere from 4-20 inches....goal posts have widened. GEFS are pretty consistent on the track it seems, but disagree on strength

    yeah, Namd for sure here....just getting its act together and it already had us pushing 7 inches.....still so much time to go at this point, is it too much to ask to have this thing start to bomb out 6 hrs earlier?

    We knew it would find a way to hit areas EOR....6-10 inches here is fine by me though. If the 10th gives us a few, we might be pushing all of last year's totals in a 3-4 day period

    best time of year for mood snows, should still accumulate assuming the boundary layer isn't torched. I remember sitting in school hoping for an early dismissal as the snow was coming down for hours, not knowing it was going to be hours of white rain because late February/early March. But as soon as the sun started to set, the roads would become an instant disaster....
