  1. Kids have their sleds ready, going to enjoy what they can....I may just shovel it all into 1 big pile and try to save it until the next one
  2. 37.2°/24° here in the valley, should wetbulb below 32 for a period of time, hopefully we pound for an hour or two before we flip....fingers crossed
  3. Just one, we need just one biggie, the mid Atlantic seems to do that pretty well....2016 if I recall First week of February holds some hope, seems to be our period down here in SW CT region of the past few years.
  4. Surprised to see that down there....timing could be pretty bad for schools if we get a quick 1 to 2 with buses on the road. Probably better safe than sorry. Here on January 25th, it is like the first snow of the season and I am sure the roads are going to be a disaster, always are with the first one...
  5. NWS has 2 to 4 here with an advisory. Sort of surprised, timing could be an issue I guess, err on the side of caution. 27/23 right now, expecting 1, maybe 2. Biggest storm of the year is 2.7", can we beat it? All will be washed away by the morning, but will be nice to at least see some snow, for a couple of hours....
  6. The feeling that there is something there, whether it is a few smaller events or one HECS....hopefully not more of the same, lol
  7. We have a lot of ground to make up down here....hopefully we can grab a few before the rain, geeze we may be able to double our season total before the rain moves in....we shall see I guess
  8. Futility continues here....Valley ftl Difference between 600' on the hill and 200' at the house.
  9. Temp dropping nicely now....34.0⁰ North side ground turning white... I guess it can still accumulate. The only problem with today's snow is now I want more!
  10. Just started mixing with snow here....let's see if temps can drop enough for some sccumulation...temp down to 36.3⁰, radar is half decent for here
  11. once, what was marginal is no longer it seems....Doesn't mean it will be this way all of the time, just more often than not. I always enjoyed the rain to snow events, staring at an evergreen in the distance, hoping to catch mangled flakes mixing in. Sitting in a car, watching the rain begin to splatter, knowing the the changeover was coming! Hope to see that down here today, but the temp continues to increase here, now 37.8° No way we are dropping 5 degrees without some heavy bands moving through later.
  12. Still 37.2⁰ here....been here only a short few years, but already know how this ends, 34⁰ with white rain. Coating of slush before the precip moves out....this is when there is actually cold air around, this time probably end up with nothing to show....now it is time for Mother nature to prove me wrong.
  13. Euro/GFS combo 36 hrs out had us 4-5 inches....at this rate I would not be surprised if we are stuck at 36 degrees tomorrow, with absolutely no flakes. Marginal storms are no longer marginal I guess, take the under every single time in these situations...
  14. Well stated, despite the good looks from the GFS and Euro, they were always headfakes in the end.....Down here anyways
  15. oh I agree the Euro was the better look of the 2, but at the end of the run....so I am sure it will change at 0z
  16. I was only referring to that system in the 8-10 day. Yes the CMC was rains to Maine, but the Euro had a some well timed confluence. Otherwise it would have been the same thing. GFS was snow and ice even down here.
  17. yup, looks similar to the CMC...So we have the SE Ridge flexing warmth and rain back here(CMC/Euro) or a blizzard in the Southeast(GFS). Besides the faux backside snow, we are back to how many ways can we rain and not snow? One of these times we need to flip the script?
  18. In this winter, it will be right...I feel like the Euro OP sort of showed this at 0z. But, if the CMC showed a snowstorm, it will most certainly be incorrect...Especially this year
  19. 1-2 week winter once again, these La Nina's have sucked for us.... Still thinking we luck out with a 15 to 25 inch total
  20. Yeah, definitely a case of I will believe it, when I am shoveling it. However, the past few days have had a horrible look in the 12 to 16 range, now it looks serviceable at least...fingers crossed
  21. GFS with plenty of opportunity after the storm mid next week, hopefully it has a clue....
  22. 39 and rain here, 0.91" yesterday...need to add the pump to the pool and remove more water. Can't believe I had to pay to top it off this summer. Sheesh If it is going to be warm, I wish there would be more sun. My solar production has been quite lousy, even for winter standards.
  23. We might be able to smell the snow from here?
  24. Even the snow Gods are angry...still legit thundering out there, crazy
