  1. They had me in the mid 40s with clear skies. I think they missed the cloudcover that came in overnight...55 here
  2. Best thunder and lightning show probably since moving up from Delaware 4 years ago....Nothing will top the July Derecho in 2012 I think?
  3. We have had a lot of near misses, I would say at least 5-8" to my south and east by only 5-10 miles. So it is possible you have nearly that much. Even today for example, just to our south 2-4 inches more than here.
  4. I am at 19.33" with today's rain. Its crazy to think that I have missed out on at least a couple inches here and there in that time period too, the infamous rain shield was in full affect during that time period.
  5. Already at 2.09" for the day.... I can't wait for the law of averages to take effect come December, its going to be a long winter....
  6. 44.2 this morning, should have turned all the fans off...
  7. 50s for morning lows with highs near 80 the past 4 days felt great. The heat can go away now....
  8. The wife goes back to work next week leaving me with full diaper duty, let the games begin....It would be nice to teach the 7 year old to take over the duty, but she has no interest in cleaning up after the family dog so I will assume diapers are off the table.
  9. Congrats....amazing how quickly they grow, my third will be 3 months old already, time has flown by since he was born.
  10. It's raining again, 14.6 inches and counting since July 10th....marshlands
  11. My garden is toast at this point...Tomatoes literally rotting on the plants. We are over 13 inches now since around July 10th. I think we would have been better off getting 13 inches in 2 day followed by a nice dry period. Instead it has rained almost every other day since then. I sure hope we don't pay for this come winter time, I am a firm believer in the law of averages.
  12. I am surprised that they haven't hoisted Flash flood watches yet, especially given how much rain we have gotten recently...
  13. Even on a somewhat boring weather day, GOES16 is still worth a glimpse on a daily basis....The cyclonic flow down around the Delmarva region is interesting to see along with all of the other cloud movements... http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/exper/?parms=subregional-Mid_Atlantic-02-48-1-100-1&checked=map&colorbar=undefined

  15. They were pretty insane, no thunder at all very tropical in nature. A little gusty towards the end of the rain. Picked up 0.70 in the stratus in under 30 minutes.
  16. I was thinking the same thing, could hear almost non stop thunder to my north. We get the warning and not one rumble of thunder so far. We are now raining at 4.00" per hour according to the davis. This after we had 0.94" yesterday....
  17. Whole new level....reminds me of daily life in the Florida Keys
  18. My friend took this photo as the storm was hitting right up the road from me in Newtown. Hard to tell, but the image looks tornadoish....
  19. Newtown/Sandyhook area is a mess, seems like most of the roads are closed at the moment..
  20. Wind started out from the nw shifted to s and ended within a minute...
  21. Well if that wasn't a tornado, not sure what it was...just south of 84 in Newtown
  22. Midlevel magic ftw here in wct...snowing moderately but the heaviest seems to be over now...
  23. Just hit 7 inches here, this band in wct is starting to move, but has been great while it lasted...31.4
  24. I have been sitting under that band for a while now, definitly fluffier in nature than last storm, but still sticking to everything. 4.75" so far, 31.8
  25. Sign me up for that....literally on the border of 12+ there, keep moving it west just in case.
