  1. Yeah, it's still 27 at my shop here in Simsbury
  2. Too early... just use the December thread for now
  3. Mmmmmm, well the word media in any context is tainted beyond belief these days (choice disparaging word omitted) so it could be anyone lol
  4. Absolutely. I'm just curious to see what the guidance does after this next one ends up in Canada. Could the large storm reshuffle the deck?
  5. We were on the Cape in Truro for that one! It was the first time I saw snow at the beach. The forecast originally was for the storm to miss even the Cape. That morning they added an inch or two to the forecast. All day they couldn't keep up and by evening we had 17 inches. It was pretty much the only positive bust I can remember in the 80s
  6. Well someone needs to take the wheel, especially how this place has been the last couple days
  7. Yeah, all that crap about IFS was just that. A friend has plowed with two Chevy 2500s both to over 100K doing nearly 50 residential driveway using a Fischer 9 foot V plow. Never had to touch front ends on either. Personally I've had the best luck with my 2014 Ram Power Wagon. Over 200k with only general maintenance. And with the electric lockers, it's the best winter weenie vehicle for those like me that love driving during winter storms
  8. Yes it has! At least for now... We've installed two in the last month and I had both within 7 days of ordering.
  9. Personally I agree, business wise... take it all down! It's great for generator install requests!
  10. That's really not good. Best approach at this point is get that water pump breaker turned off! Then assess the damage
  11. I still have 60npercent cover, but it surely won't make it til Thursday. And the ground sure isn't frozen. We must have a different plow operator this year, he gave our lawn quite a scalping
  12. I agree. A rare blizzard would be great, but if the ground is white I'd be plenty happy
  13. I was just wondering the same thing. It's interesting looking at some of the options runs. They look like they want to spawn a secondary offshore, but then it ends up in upstate NY
  14. True but I don't think it really makes a huge difference in seasonal totals most years. Although I have always believed that the old method was more indicative of what we really see on the ground. I think this method of measuring on a snowboard every few hours is kind of fake if you ask me.
  15. Exactly. Me, having the blizzard of '78 as the experience that started my interest in weather... and then living through the next decade really does color my opinion. Certainly more so than someone who's say 30 years old
