  1. It's recommended... however most never do. I'm am electrician and never do on my own. Really if it's wired with a 4 conductor cable it's already bonded to your electrical system. Well, and wired properly. SOO many portables aren't
  2. Hilltops FTW so far, not much here in the valley yet. However enough to impair some of the decrepit power grid. The tree trimming effort around here is so useless. If there's trees 30 feet above a line, trimming the lower branches really doesn't help anything. But people violently complain when they try to remove trees
  3. About 2K out in west Simsbury. Don Tuller was on the radio.. had to leave to fire up his generator
  4. I just came down from north Canton/Granby and there's still 100 percent cover... for now
  5. This allows time for extra egg nog, the adult kind
  6. Hence why among many CT electricians... they're known as NeverSource. NOT a fun company to deal with on a business level either
  7. I'll be driving in at 5a.m. I still don't expect a big deal in this area. 99 times out of 100 high wind forecasts under perform here. I'd be more concerned with the cold front passage later on
  8. That would sure be a big surprise to the general public since they're inundated with wind and rain talk.
  9. Yeah, not more than 5 minutes west of me there's still at least 8-10 inches down. We have pretty much nothing left, just patches
  10. Has it been getting better at all the last couple runs? I haven't had a chance today to look at those charts
  11. This is true... its just the thread starters phrasing and extreme exuberance that causes the nails on a chalkboard response to the.... threat
  12. Thats what I've been thinking all along. Except for the usual suspect areas that have large exposure
  13. Well.... he thought he was onto something. I am not going to make an issue of a fellow forum members youth and inexperience
  14. Not just for the 27th, but moving beyond as well. It seems many times we get a storm like this it reshuffles the deck on the OP runs
  15. In my area I really feel we'll have more wind impact from the cold front passage Friday afternoon than anything beforehand
  16. If it were me, I'd leave early. Rain and wind, no problem... but I'm sure you know how long it takes to get treatment on the highways up there. They won't be able to pre treat either with the rain
  17. Hate to say I even looked at it, but the CMC actually went the other way. No more hit on the latest run
  18. Sorry. It's just my personality. The older I get the more the media freaking annoys me. I do appreciate your forecasts and I used to be a weather Watcher for Brad back in the mid 80s. Hell, I still have a Paul Cousins wvit hurricane tracking chart!
