  1. Both the GFS and the Euro are gross for next weekend. Hopefully it can shift east. I should have just stayed in Utah!
  2. Yes that was nuts! I didn’t see it as we were over at Gad 2 but a liftie told us about it.
  3. Yes! Snowbird yesterday. Hitting big cottonwood canyon today.
  4. Going to put this here….. Glorious day today!
  5. Berkshire East did a really good job resurfacing. They blew some whales before the warmth and rain and groomed it all out pretty good for Saturday. Fresh couple inches of snow was super fun. There was definitely plenty of ice but over all it was decent. Yesterday and this morning was even better. All the manmade terrain is open so there are plenty of options. Gotta make the most of what you have. I hope they can survive the rain and warmth.
  6. I’ll be in Utah so i don’t care too much. Buy I’d like to see SVT resorts get a little revenge after the 2/4 debacle.
  7. Yeah I saw this yesterday! Serious business. The R and D scales go up to 5 as I remember so it was a pretty decent slide for the region. Very lucky for both skiers that one guy was only partially buried and they knew what they were doing. ADK slides are no joke!
  8. Love Burke! Place is a blast when it has snow!
  9. The huge mid February storm was something special. Most snow I remember in the woods in a very long time. Only sad part of that winter was the 4 days of 70's a week after that big storm. Still ripped deep woods lines at Stowe, Smuggs and Jay the first week of March, didn't really seem like it melted all that much. March raged back strong with that massive mid month storm. "Stella!"
  10. 2016 had a cutter every couple weeks. Including a couple in February.
  11. Hasn't been two bad March's in a row out here in a while. So lets hope for a nice rebound and a couple weeks of fun.
  12. Yeah people are going to say we clean up out here. But in all honesty the foothill areas do not get that much snow and especially the valleys. Berkshire East is down in a valley with a base elevation of 400 feet. The mountain says it averages 75-80" a season which is pretty decent for SNE but I'd argue they don't get that much due to their very low base elevation. I'd say there are definitely some years where we get good snow but it's fairly inconsistent. I don't think there have been more than 5 20" storms in Charlemont, MA in the last 12 years. Now head 10 miles West and you are getting into a special place. Though lately even up there that are not seeing the big totals. SVT down into the northern Berkshires haven't had a ton to be excited about over the last several winters.
  13. I’d like to have up north rocking and rolling again when I get back from warming my legs up in Utah! Down here would be a mere bonus.
  14. no idea it actually snowed here once in 2016! I have tired to burn that winter out of my mind forever.... not nearly enough tequila to get me through that one.
  15. Would like to see the models starting move next weeks rain a little more south. GFS doesn't want to budge yet, EURO moved a bit south. Plenty of time to go thankfully. I could care less about down here at this point but this has a lot of implications for ski and sled country!
  16. I think all things considered right now it's very good. They have all of their snowmaking terrain open which is pretty extensive for SNE. There were a couple spots where some dirt and grass are sticking out but nothing crazy. They will turn on the guns tomorrow night and freshen everything up pretty quickly.
  17. Yes snow is going fast out here. Wasn’t much to begin with. Sub par winter all around out here. Today is great skiing though! Yay!
  18. I know we’re all moving on to spring down here! Next weekend looks like it could end up decent for the NNE peeps. Maybe some room to trend for down here.
  19. If we can avoid last years suck fest I’ll be somewhat happy.
  20. Finally able to post. Pico was pretty amazing Friday! Fresh tracks all day. Upper Pike was great first run, untouched powder. The glades and off map stuff were what really put the day over the top. Top day this season for me by far! Ski on all day and fresh tracks every run can’t really beat that!
  21. GFS sets up knife fights for lift line position in Southern Vermont Saturday!
  22. Yeah it's been pretty tough. We were fairly lucky with some decent stretches of cold both last February and this January. Hopefully we can get a couple nice SWFE's in February.
  23. Hopefully one of these bands can work its way up there between 11-4. Woods should be decent with even a few inches to warm the top layer of old snow.
