  1. I'm pretty underwhelmed and I think my perspective is off because it snowed 5" before I woke up and it was pinging by the time I measured. Picked up 1.75" since then, but aside from about 30 minutes of fluff, that part has been pretty pedestrian. All I need is 1.25" later to get to my 8" goal, but it doesn't feel like I'm actually close at all!
  2. Measured another 0.75" from the light stuff in Burke, so that puts me at 6.75" total so far. Was about to say this. Really hoping it doesn't dry up too much in the mountains and we can pile up some evening fluff.
  3. That's actually pretty damn good. My guess is that there are nukes and whiffs that cancel each other out.
  4. Wipe boards every 30 minutes and sum the (rounded up) measurements. Easy peasy.
  5. Energy gets buried in the Southwest. The northern stream energy races out in front and leaves the southern energy behind. We need that phase to happen for it to turn the corner. That said, this is a little better than 00z, so there's that.
  6. We've got the Ukie to bring us down to Earth first...
  7. The timeframes people are talking about are so small in the overall scale of things that you can't put it down to climate shifting. Sometimes places have shit luck for a period or there's some sort of cycle we're going through. No way to know for sure.
  8. Compare it to 18z yesterday and it's almost a carbon copy at 66.
  9. 5H at 60 hours on the GFS looks very similar to 18z yesterday (in terms of that shortwave in the Southwest). Just sayin' without sayin' anything.
  10. Just need them oriented towards me. I know we'll get at least some snow on the back end, but I'm always a little concerned about subsidence between bands and that kind of thing, so I'm a little jumpy. As I'm typing this, a little enhancement just popped up on radar near me. Would love to see that expand/fill in...
  11. Yup. I'm a little bummed to be missing out on those.
  12. No doubt places north got the shaft. All the talk of the usual north ticks near the end did kind of happen, but ground truth looks to not have followed suit.
  13. Exactly. No real accumulation, but just having some snow fall and no dripping is quite nice.
  14. It's a nice town with lots of different housing options. Plenty of activities in town and nearby, great schools, and plenty of food options! We get snow, too. Not a ton, but enough to usually keep me from going off the edge. Like today. Today is nice.
  15. I take it that the 15" lollies mentioned in the disco last night isn't going to happen.
  16. Currently very light pixie dust in Burke. Folks just to he south and east have done better, but not going to complain about already having 6". Need some of that fluff lovin' later today...
  17. Pixies for the last 15-20 minutes in Burke. I don't really mind crappy rates or snow growth as long as it keeps snowing.
  18. 6" on the dot in Burke as of 8:45 am. Lots of fatties turning into just a few skinnies.
  19. Confirming that it suddenly went back to snow about 20-30 minutes ago. Daughter and I took our new pup for a walk in the fatties. Dude loved it...and so did his hoominz!
  20. Agreed. 8" was my goal, so I only need 3" more to get there. Just want some decent rates to come back so I can feel a little more confident that it'll happen.
  21. No matter how long they last nor how much snow I already have, pingers suck.
  22. It's sleeting now. Hope that makes you feel better.
