  1. That's certainly what it looks like to us lurkers. So glad you professional sorts think the same thing. It feels like we've been tracking this since 2015, but it's only been a week.
  2. I was wondering when this was going to happen. Can't we just go with the 12Z GFS instead?
  3. 35, clear here with the moon bright but a bit hazy. Clouds to the west, hugging the mainland.
  4. Tiny flakes finally falling out here on Casco Bay. Temps dropped from 31 to 27 in last 20 mins.
  5. 15-20mph sustained winds on Casco Bay. Ferry canceled three downbay afternoon runs. Probably 8"-9" snow but constant wind leaving some spots bare and 12"-18" drifts against buildings, so hard to tell. Depth gauge clearly frozen. No whiteout conditions to brag about.
  6. Lunch at Aunt Carries? You lucky dog!
  7. High tide is 1300 feet away. Walked the beach this afternoon. The water was shimmering. Light wind, great view as far south southeast as Cape Elizabeth and northeast to Harpswell. Windows open at night so we hear the waves all year round. So soothing. What retirement is all about.
  8. We have been losing branches all morning out here on Long. Nothing too big, just lots of small stuff. Top temp so far was 35 with a break in clouds, already down to 33.
  9. Wondered when one of you guys was going to wrap Bernie into a low.
  10. 14/6 broken cloud cover. Eager for afternoon's beginning snowfall.
  11. Wow! I'm impressed. But. But. But. There's usually some heavy weather or a storm around 12/5 that precipitates (pun intended) this wrap up (another pun intended). It's got a full tank of gas, though, so like the VW in the movie Sleeper, it will start up for any emergency.
  12. So that means I have to put away the golf cart? It's still so warm.
  13. Gusts to 24 out here. .01 rainfall. Unimpressive as expected. Dark & stormy but *way* too warm for a fire in the fireplace.
  14. Fog just came out of nowhere, drifting through our yard. No rain yet. Looking like more wind than much needed rain.
  15. Nice little patch of snow here the last hour, but it's its lightened up considerably. Meanwhile the temp has dropped from 36 to 33. Waiting for the rain to move in again.
  16. We could be putting the plows back on out here, although we are still too far out get too excited. If it does snow, it will fall on the same day as last year's last dump.
  17. Got 2.5" sn before it changed to rain in the last 30 min. About 2.5." Now 34/33, which is warm enuf for snow to fall off the sides of the car. Not the storm I was hoping for, but it was the one forecast. 2/27 doesn't see to hold much promise for us either, but it's 9 days and mucho model runs away.
  18. Moderate snow continues. Wind beginning to pick up - up near 10 mph. Temp up 7 degrees in just over an hour to 32.
  19. Really coming down now, small flakes, nice cover. Perfect view on a Retirement Tuesday. 25/20
  20. Fabulous, fantastic fatties falling far and farther. Winds n/nw at 4. 24/15.
  21. NWS Boston A pattern change? Possibly in early March per @NWSCPC 3-4 week outlook w/Alaska trending to a warmer pattern & Northeast (#MA #RI #CT) to a colder pattern. Possible culprit? Powerful cyclone (920 mb!) near Iceland yesterday with #hurricane winds may contribute to a pattern change
  22. Exactly, and the other thing working against us is days are getting longer and the sun is higher in the sky. In 4 weeks it will pretty much be over except for a isolated dump that will quickly melt unless it is unseasonably cold and we have a lot of cloud cover.
