  1. At this rate of intensification Dorian will be a 300 mph sub 850 mb storm by tomorrow morning.
  2. NHC will wait until everyone's asleep at 2 AM to upgrade to cat 5. Sheesh.
  3. Where's the Bermuda triangle when you need it most. Make the whole storm just disappear.
  4. How many football fields wide is the eye right now?
  5. What the hell is the NHC thinking. This is a cat 5.
  6. Once Dorian enters the slightly warmer waters it should become a cat 5 by this evening.
  7. Can't wait for my 15 mph wind gusts and my tenth of an inch of rain from the storm up here.
  8. This is the banter thread. None of my posts on this thread should be taken seriously.
  9. Several hundred millibar drop with Dorian from the previous pass. Radar gone full ring, and the water temperature has dropped 50 degrees. Edit: Recon finding 500 mph winds. I'd say anywhere from Miami to Boston should evacuate.
  10. 5,000 J/kg CAPE over southern Delmarva. Also some towering cumulus to my east and I can feel the instability in the air. Best chance for convection IMO is across the state line as the cumulus field starts here east.
  11. I think they were basing it on Tennessee too much and not enough of the cloud cover. Based on looking at yesterday evening's satellite, the cloud debris was gonna be a problem and they missed it.
  12. Lots of school kid snow day dreams were dashed during the March 2017 snowstorm down here.
  13. Worst forecast bust ever. Pretty much went from ENH to MRGL in just 12 hours.
  14. Another lame event.. next. Gonna enjoy outdoor activities all day i guess. barely even under the slight now. Clouds messing everything up. Shouldn't even be an enhanced, there's cloud cover basically over the whole mid-atlantic.
  15. Getting some towers here travelling home from west Virginia. Over by d.c right now.
  16. Getting absolutely nailed by pop-up cells! Lightning is kinda meh though
  17. Barely moving, too. I bet those rainfall rates are almost 2 inches per hour in that storm.
