Severe threat looks to be over. I had a nice short lightning storm, and a new cell popped up just east of me in the past half hour. Onto tomorrow, lol. Had a damn close strike btw

Still some impressive dynamics around the Chesapeake and Delmarva area. There's still a lot of untapped energy in the areas where D.C and Balt have largely missed the action to the north. Wouldn't be surprised if we get woken up over the next few hours

Primed for a late evening storm. MLCAPE values are up to 2500 J/kg and the lifted indices are up to -7.. but I'm curious to see what parameters show if there's lifting, or are we just wasting the juiced atmosphere away

89/78 here in the rotisserie zone. Supercell composite values are pretty decent down here, wouldn't be surprised if a nighttime/evening storm comes around

This is one hell of a lightning storm. Constant barrage and this is the 2nd storm to pass over within a half hour.

Still no cumulus clouds here yet.. just clear skies with high clouds from a storm to my south. eta 4:42 PM - gust front heading towards D.C may fire up new convection if it collides with that small thundershower west of Sterling

Law enforcement reported multiple trees down in Albemarle Cty. ...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM EDT FOR SOUTHEASTERN MADISON...ORANGE...SOUTHERN CULPEPER AND CENTRAL SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTIES... At 151 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Madison to near Boswells Tavern, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported multiple trees down in Albemarle County. IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

Loud thunder for the past 5 minutes and heavy rain. Those lapse rates are pretty steep already.
