  1. Lots of school kid snow day dreams were dashed during the March 2017 snowstorm down here.
  2. Worst forecast bust ever. Pretty much went from ENH to MRGL in just 12 hours.
  3. Pepperidge farm remembers when you would forecast only a few inches but get two feet instead and not the other way around
  4. Another lame event.. next. Gonna enjoy outdoor activities all day i guess. barely even under the slight now. Clouds messing everything up. Shouldn't even be an enhanced, there's cloud cover basically over the whole mid-atlantic.
  5. Having the same problem. I've thought it was my computer being slow until now. Not alone.
  6. You can expect anywhere between 0 and 100 inches of snow this winter.
  7. Well there's a whole lot of other factors come into play.. last year was almost a mod nino but the pacific jet was firehose all winter long which screwed us loose. I'm also worried about it being cold but too dry. If those CP waters can warm up a little more, i'd be sold on a pretty decent winter this year.
  8. East based Nina seems to be developing.
  9. So we can bet on fall lasting through winter? #whatwinter2019-20
  10. Coming soon: NAO- anyone? After being in a positive phase from late november to early march, the NAO has finally turned to negative.
  11. -NAO will surely come positive nao by thanksgiving and will last until March 21st.
  12. Getting some towers here travelling home from west Virginia. Over by d.c right now.
  13. Getting absolutely nailed by pop-up cells! Lightning is kinda meh though
  14. Barely moving, too. I bet those rainfall rates are almost 2 inches per hour in that storm.

  16. Severe hail is hail that meets criteria for severe warning. 1 inch hail or greater is severe.
  17. 4,000 J/kg of SBCAPE already and 2,000 MLCAPE. Whole area should be under a watch.
  18. Downgrade the slight risk. I'm sure we'll get something that way.
  19. Huge CAPE values over central OK right now, exceeding 7,000 J/kg in places.. I want that here
  20. Just as I thought it couldn't bust for the 4th time in a row i just get a heavy shower with zero lightning, with 20kft echo tops as the cherry on top.
  21. I am watching a storm form over Dover, looking east from the state line. Rain shaft forming as well and an anvil just popped out
