  1. 3.9” at MSP 6.5” WFO Chanhassen. Measuring approximately 4.5” imby. Great spread the wealth event for our subforum.
  2. Still churning out pixie dust at a decent rate. It’s been a 14-1 snow/liquid ratio at the airport.
  3. These long duration events are great. 12hrs+ of snow will end up yielding ~4” here. I’ve crossed a parental rubicon tonight. My 4 year old was actually helpful shoveling the driveway.
  4. Hard not to be optimistic about an overachiever here with the hi-res models showing no snow until noon, yet we’ve had parachutes falling for several hours and between 0.5”-1” down. Very high ratio stuff
  5. Getting some light snow this morning, the roads are snow covered. Wasn’t really expecting anything until noon, still think 2-4” here
  6. Low of 16 this AM. Coldest of the season. Snow depth 3”
  7. NWS feeling a lot more bullish than I am in Minneapolis. I think 1-2” is a reasonable call, they seem to think 2-5”. Either way, glad to see a deep freeze behind the snow. Get those lakes frozen already!
  8. Riding the northern edge on the NAM at long range feels like definite miss south to me.
  9. 40mph gusts all night making it impossible to measure but it looks like guidance was to bullish on snow totals. Seems like a 1-3” type event eyeballing from my kitchen.
  10. Just flipped to snow here. Still thinking 3-4” with a solid ice/slush base from the 0.36” of rain earlier
  11. I recall 2004 being a surprise white Thanksgiving. Rain changed to snow.
  12. I should be in line for a nice snowpack refresher/boost with this one. Have models taken into account the snowpack that will be laid down across MN/WI tonight? Perhaps that will drive the baroclinic zone a tad south for the Chicago peeps. Never underestimate WAA though….
  13. Dense fog and scattered showers this AM. Upgraded to a WSW overnight. I’m still only expecting 3-4” imby but with the combination of wind, busy travel period, and the first significant snowfall of the season I understand why the NWS felt like upgrading most of the southern half of the state.
  14. First WWA of the season, so there’s that. Whatever sticks should have staying power. @weatherboif you are out there this should be a good one for you.
  15. One last day of record warm temperatures before reality sets in. Getting the last of the yard work completed and tracking 3 systems, life is good.
  16. Fantasy land on the GFS looks really good for the upper Midwest, but time will tell if it’s a trend or mirage. 0.03” of precipitation in November, something has got to give.
  17. Worrying that there is only a slight risk over the Rockies. Snowpack in Colorado is near record low for this time of year.
  18. Close call for the Twin Cities tomorrow. Bad thermals and a razor sharp northern edge.
  19. Temperatures have overachieved today and we’ve set a new record high in Minneapolis. 72 breaking the old record of 71
  20. Holy cow, very bright and directly overhead, visible to naked eye in the city.
  21. https://www.earthcam.com/usa/illinois/chicago/wrigleyfield/?cam=wrigleyfield_hd
  22. Dusting overnight. First official flakes of the season at MSP.
  23. What is the all time November snowfall record for Chicago?
