  1. Thunderstorms stayed south of the airport. I don’t think we dropped below 81. Feels like New Orleans out here.
  2. Dew points have been steadily rising all day. We are now up to 73. Tropical out there.
  3. Funny you mention it, I was looking at bringing the family up to Duluth this weekend to escape the heat but it’s Grandma’s Marathon weekend so your assertion that half the state will be up there is probably accurate. Point forecast bumped up to 98 at MSP. Outside chance we break triple digits. The splash pad will be out in our yard this weekend and I’ll be trying to convince the kids to play in the basement.
  4. Topped out at 88 today. 3 days of muggy 90s ahead of us and then hopefully a ring of fire. Sure seems like a lot of areas in this sub have seen more precipitation the past week then Minneapolis has seen for all of 2025. MSP is sitting at 11.03” of precipitation since January 1st.
  5. 2-3 days of 90s and dews in the 70s here then moderation and hopefully a ring of fire pattern. Of course it’s centered right on the weekend so the beaches will be absolutely packed.
  6. Fading to the southeast. No game for my back yard this round.
  7. Some spinups in the far western metro per radar. Heading my way!
  8. The official high temperature was 57 yesterday in Minneapolis. Warming trend begins today.
  9. I’ll have to wait for final data to verify, but it appears the high today in Minneapolis is 57. That would be the first sub 60 high in June since it was 58 on June 6th 2013. When it’s 70-75 on November 13th I’ll remember today.
  10. 55 degrees at 1:45pm on this lovely Friday the 13th.
  11. High of 73 in Minneapolis, 94 in Des Moines. Quite the airmass change for anyone traveling on I-35 today.
  12. 0.2 degrees below the 30 year average. More like average, but no days above 89 and a high of 66 on the 20th. 7.27” precipitation which is 2.69” above average. Smoke has returned and unfortunately it’s becoming the summertime norm here.
  13. June 2025 is playing out in a similar fashion as June 2024 so far, cool and wet.
  14. Lucked out and had a quick cloudburst just water my garden for me. Few nice rumbles thrown in the mix too.
  15. Dews in the mid/upper 30s in June!!!! Feels like living on borrowed time but I’ll take it. Air quality finally improved as the AQI is down around 60.
  16. Couldn’t see across the lake on my commute this morning. Conditions are improving already thank goodness.
  17. Cold front passed through the twin cities last night. Subsidence behind the front is bringing the smoke to ground level. The upper flow pattern had been out of the NW to my understanding. It’s a pretty thin band of surface level smoke. Western and Central Minnesota are already seeing improvements.
  18. Very smoky rain this morning. AQI over 200, visibility under 3 miles. The smell of burnt boreal forest in the air.
  19. Popped off our 2nd 90 temp of 2025 today, at least dews are manageable in the mid 50s. Big dog ground smoke heading this way. The Fargo area has had an AQI over 250 today. Letting the kids enjoy the splash pad before we are locked indoors.
  20. Thick hazy smoke all weekend. Might have some surface smoke tomorrow. NWS mentioned the potential for Smoky rain with the cold front tomorrow.
  21. Smoke is here. Nasty stuff, hasn’t reached the surface quite yet but coming. Embrace the new normal I suppose.
