  1. I would not want to be anywhere near a riverbank on Christmas Eve and Day. Makes sure your storm drains are clear. .
  2. Joking aside, when is the next anticipated time we can spot something to track? It looks like it'll be quiet for a while.
  3. Every winter this reminds me I'm getting older. I'm beat right now.
  4. Checking in after shoveling and work; I hope you guys enjoyed it up there! I'm guessing we were 6 to 10 or 8 to 12 around here, but there was sleet and a bunch of wind. In fact, told a meteorologist friend, "This storm had some 1994 vibes to it... Super cold, mixing, huge totals way north and west of here, cold winds, cold nights... the ludicrous snow totals hundreds of miles from me while it was 19 and sleeting here. That’s 1994." Hopefully there's something new to track soon; keep me posted if there is!
  5. Just my thought after getting a really nice night's sleep after not checking the boards since last night and waking up to a nice snow (Granted, not the outrageous amounts forecasted, but I think from reading here, we kinda knew that would occur in the back of our minds): This is the kind of storm we would have really enjoyed and hoped for as kids, but we’ve been spoiled so much in the the last 25 years and have been conditioned to frown upon and be disappointed with 8 to 12 of fast-accumulating snow with sleet and howling winds, ending with snow swirling in bitter cold. And a week before Christmas to boot! P.S. I'm guessing we got somewhere in the 8-12 range here in MMU; the winds are making it difficult to gauge. Many rooves are clean this morning.
  6. If that pans out, I guess MMU does all right. (If I could call my 9 year self back in 1991, and let him know that I know some people - like myself - who are a bit meh on a potential 12" to 18" storm because some sleet might mix in and it's not as great as the several 20"+ storms we've had over the past 25 years, he would look at me like I had three heads, and wonder how I'm calling him.)
  7. For what it’s worth, my math this morning give me a dewpoint of 6° at MMU. (My two apps don’t show it) Not sure what that means overall for people north of me, but for us due west of the city, can someone with more knowledge basically explain what that means? .
  8. I did the math on mine and it’s a 6° dew point above MMU. Not sure what that means moving forward; perhaps someone with more expertise can explain. .
  9. If it snows that much north of me, that will funnel a lot of cold air right to me on Friday morning. I'm currently forecasted for 7 degrees, so I think there's room for it go lower.
  10. What’s interesting about this is that if you told me last week I would see up to a foot of snow (MMU looks like up to 10, maybe more) a week before Christmas, I’d ask where I could sign up. Also, a nice economic bump if it does hot NE PA and the Catskills well, since their main revenues outside of season passes are taken at the last week of December. It’s good for that along with a COVID-safe activity. .
  11. The main storm thread reads like a Greek tragedy. .
  12. I'd like to see you verify for MMU; if this is similar to March 14, 2017, where we got about a foot or slightly more of snow and sleet, it'll be a beast to clear from my driveway. That was one of the hardest storms to shovel.
