  1. Thank you. This helped make more sense to me. When can we start asking about IMBY, or is this going to be a real-time forecast as it rolls in?
  2. That's my (very unscientific and very anecdotal) thought. Only because I've seen this movie before. Then again, why not.
  3. I'm interested in the physics of why such a cold high would allow it to come far north. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  4. Dumb question: On this map where can you see the dryslot? Hypothetically, could you draw it on said map? Asking... for a friend.
  5. Oh yea. That one. I’m glad it doesn’t live rent-free in my weather memory. .
  6. Not to rain on anyone’s parade up there (no pun intended), but from my untrained experience, why would we believe that a cold high as strong as the one coming into play would give up against a relatively weaker low, and pushing really big totals pretty far north? TIA. (Not pushing for my own sake; believe me, I saw it first hand in February 2010, and some other storms way back when.) Only asking out of my experience from seeing these things for years, back to WeatherStar 2000 or whatever it was when TWC thrilled me with the dark red screen of death interrupting my regular programming. .
  7. Maybe I’m too far south now in MMU?[emoji2275] Also, is everyone ok in this thread? Everyone seems... grounded and reasonable. .
  8. I didn’t realize how far north you guys are! Those cutoffs you spoke of are crazy. I’m just due west in regards to burbs for MMU. It looks like it’s a good spot here for this storm. January 2016 was 25” or so here. One of the better storms here... on par with 1996. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. TWC sucks now. It’s either awful reality TV or every single event is an EVENT. We recently flipped to YouTube TV (save $45/month versus FiOS), and it doesn’t have TWC. You don’t miss it. We have phones now to look up weather. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. These models have mood swings wilder and more unpredictable than my children fighting over halloween candy bartering.
  11. and correct me if I am wrong (and I may be hilariously wrong), but the low would also be hitting a warm ocean early in the winter season, which should only help with tapping moisture to fling into the cold dome.
  12. Having some Forrest Gump-style big, fat rain. .
  13. When can we starting asking How Much for Philly? .
  14. That looks like it’s pushing dryer air down my way (MMU), unless I’m reading it wrong, which may very well be. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. 1. Thank you. I recently switched to YouTube TV (which doesn’t carry TWC... and you realize, even though you always knew it, that you don’t miss it), so I can’t leave TWC on in the background. This is better. 2. My kids will go out of their minds if this verifies. We look good out here. I hope everyone else gets what they want this week. .
  16. I just got back from running errands; is there a graphic available? Obviously, just interesting in knowing how it will hit MMU. Thanks! [emoji2371] .
  17. Wash, rinse, repeat. Every. Damn. Year. I’m not trained behind it, but it’s the same dance since I remember reading a few boards ago (might have been called EasternUSWX? Not sure) Anyway, hopefully we can enjoy it and get some Christmas scenery out of it. .
  18. Thanks! Trying to temper the expectations of my kids. .
  19. I just rediscovered this thread... how is Morris County looking through all of this? I’m trying to cut through the 95,000 model runs and trends those smarter than myself are sharing. TIA. .
  20. Do I indulge the whims of my kids? They’re already mentioning, “My teacher said it might snow next week,” to which I reply, “A lot has to come together, but the ingredients are there.” They then sigh and mutter, “Dad, you ALWAYS say that.” We’re in MMU, so I think it looks favorable. Until then. .
  21. LOCK IT IN! (Or, is it safe yet to say STOP THE COUNT! in levity?) This is good for MMU.
