  1. We got down to 36 overnight in MMU, FWIW.
  2. No, but it *feels* like when it happens, it's not great. (Yes, I know it's feeling and not data, but I think we can agree on that)
  3. December 21st. Just figured it'll be one of those years.
  4. HA! ::sobs uncontrollably:: I just noticed two things: This story, and that the Weather Channel is back on FiOS on Channel 611. Hope everyone has a great summer! https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2019/06/26/record-challenging-greenland-climate-pattern-is-boosting-extreme-weather-north-america-europe/?utm_term=.427d16fe6543
  5. Haven't been on in a few, but it was a decent thump at MMU; seemed like more than half a foot by me. Very pretty.
  6. Correct. Do you see now how often NJ calls a State of Emergency? It's every storm now. It used to be once or twice a decade; now it's a winter weather advisory.
  7. I assume you're young, because that's melodramatic. It's not fun, wait until there's four or five of these in succession. That's when it wears on you.
  8. Huh, look at that delightful run smack dab during my elementary school years.
  9. I just signed up for my spring rec. softball league last night, so I'm ready for the ground to be dry in early April, if we can help it.
  10. My kids and I were outside playing catch yesterday. It was nice. They were eschewing the Xbox by themselves and waiting to get out. The early cold in November and lack of snow, combined with rain and then cold and dry has made this feel like a trudge.
  11. Dude, that's melodramatic for something that's out of our control. We've had a lot of enjoyment the past decade or so. This is how we get averages.
  12. While this winter hasn't been what we've wanted in regards to snow, it has been interesting to see a November snowstorm, some nice cold with a lack of snowcover (again, natural pest control, such as the emerald ash borer), and now perhaps an impressive snow squall, which we don't see too often in our parts. We've gotten fat and entitled in recent years.
  13. The cold is good for controlling the bug population, and early warmth can harm trees when hit with late season freezes. (See April 2007) I love snow, but I love the very cold that is nature’s pruning. .
  14. I loved 1994. I haven't loved the more recent ones as much, and it's probably because of my age and responsibilities. Being 11 in the 1993-1994 winter was almost pure perfection. Now, the snow aggravates me (not the enthusiast) as an adult with things to do.
  15. Thanks for follow-up! I was kidding and don't possess half the knowledge some of the people here do.
