after the storms pass it is mostly smokey sky conditions you can see the smoke hanging between the trees down the street temps only in low 80's with high humidity

that one struck mainly south jersey and south central nj - went south of us here in most of Middlesex/Somerset

MCS/Derecho chances on the rise for this weekend in the northwest flow around the heat dome- winds in those things can reach 100 mph ...........last one to hit central NJ was Labor Day 1998

Wednesday the smoke could reach all the way to the surface in some areas- that combined with the very hot temps could make it the most dangerous day of the season so far..........

clearing is headed this way for mid - late afternoon - temps will rebound to close to 80 or above in some areas but high humidity for awhile

there was an area of very heavy rain just to your east on radar - would like to hear of any amounts from those areas

This line of heavy rain moving south from Northern NJ into Middlesex County is moving slowly and should produce an inch or 2 of rain in some places and wouldn't be surprised if there is more flooding in the usual areas prone to it. No wind thunder etc yet temp dropped from 83 to 69

last weeks power outages were a warning - we will have widespread massive power outages again if we are hit by a cat 1 or 2 hurricane - aging infrastructure has a lot to do with it. Many telephone poles are very old and need to be replaced - the same with transformers on those poles - ever notice a rusting transformer ? Plus these towns are allowing various cable companies add their wire and equipment to the old poles .
