yes the rain should be mostly over by Monday but if you are implying this will end the drought - think again Upton only going for less than 3 inches overall more south than north

click on fronts here and you can see the front is getting closer to us from the northwest already cleared NW Jersey - looks like areas south of I-78 get the most severe storms

No mention - just straight line winds where the most severe storms occur - which is yet to be determined BUT at the looks of radar and where the front is now central and south NJ along with Philly look to be most likely IMO
Going to be interesting to see how much severe weather actually develops here this afternoon as the front is already moving east fast and runs from Milford PA southwest down to around Harrisburg with no mesoscale discussions or any severe watches/warnings anywhere-AS OF 12 NOON

a couple of small puddles here probably less than a tenth here,.Precip on radar mainly from extreme eastern NJ and points east. patches of blue sky approaching from the west on the Satellite images and observed here in north central NJ
The line of showers is once again weakening as it moves east into the metro - lets see if it ends up stalling out as some guidance suggests once it is over the metro - really need the rain.....
Step 4 would be a displaced Polar Vortex caused by SSW which played a huge role in the extended cold snowy outbreak(s) this past winter. Also the colder than normal persistent sea surface temps off the coast would help.
Line is shrinking in width and coverage as it moves east and is picking up speed should be east of most of the region by evening - this has been the trend lately and the drought conditions are getting worse - lawns are very dry and not growing as fast as usual this time of Spring
